You get verified once, and if a provider flakes, you don't have to share your information again.  Good luck.

To use a sports analogy I see a newbie as one that has never gotten off the bench and into the game. That describes me.
I have been a member of TER off and on for a number of years and find it very frustrating. It follows the age old problem of needing experience to be hired, but how do you get experience if no one is willing to hire you. The same goes with being able to provide references. I recently provided copies of what i consider sensitive material to a provider during an exchange of three e-mails. Her last to me indicated we were off to a good start and she would be in touch. After a couple of weeks I got curious and tried to make contact again. I was told she had no recollection of me contacting her or sending my private information. I was also told to not contact her again. More frustration. I am beginning to think I am too old to be considered.
I am also beginning to believe that it is just not worth the effort anymore.  Just my two cents for what it is worth.

Never think you are too old. Just be a little bit more careful. Best of luck to you.

...friendly" ladies, such as myself.

As for not sharing your information again, that is not always true.  Even if a gentleman has been verified through P411, he still must forward the appointment form from my website.  I am not the only lady that has this policy.

Preferred411's owner, Gina, and her staff will work with you to verify you.  Once that is done, search that site for newbie friendly providers.  When you find a few you like, make appts. thru the site, and after the date, ask if they will give you an OK on P411.  As soon as you have a few of those, it will get easier.  If you see providers that are members here, ask if they will give you a whitelist referral, that will help too.

For the record, I agree with above poster, you're not too old unless you really think you are.  Many providers see guys much older than they are.  The age limit most often encountered is on the young end of the spectrum, they won't see guys under a certain age.  I cannot recall seeing an ad here with an age restriction on the top end.

Yes, it can be a difficult hurdle to get over.  Without being too specific, what is your approximate location (Las Vegas, New York, ...) and do you frequent the Regional Board closest to your area?

If you are not comfortable giving out private info to someone, DON'T!!  You can sort of tell things from a review history: someone who has many good reviews over many years and is in this as a career (of sorts) does not want to spoil her reputation by losing info or betraying a trust ... or she wouldn't have all of those reviews!  Someone new might be honest, reliable and trustworthy (do the Girl Scouts have a merit badge for this?) but if she's only been around a few months with a few or 10 reviews, you might be less comfortable about sharing and want to wait a while.

Someone else mentioned P411 which will verify you to others without sharing your credentials.  Date-Check is another verification service and Room Service 2000 (RS2K) is another one.  Each one has its popularity zones or is used more than the others in a particular region.

I think you are allowed to post a "Looking for newbie friendly hostess" on your local regional board, but I'm not sure if they all work the same way.

Patience is a virtue ... but some virtues are over-rated!

Good luck!

Agreed that getting off the bench can be difficult, we've all been there. To continue the analogy, it may mean that you've got to show some extra hustle. There are newbie friendly providers, but if you don't have any track record they will more likely require verification info beyond P411. I've not been burned by this in the past and in fact prefer a more cautious provider.

More specific suggestions via PM.
