Have you guys noticed how most of the people giving free legal advice on TER are not lawyers? (see the legal board). There is a reason for that. Engaging in criminal behavior can be grounds for being disbared. I dont doubt they are here -they can actually afford this hobby!- but I think they would keep silent than to encourage illegal activities -or "aiding and abetting". I dont know about CA but some years ago in the South East (not Florida) I was cruising the streets for a quickie BJ when a squad car pulled me over. Since I happened to have a video camera in the car I tried to pull a fast one and told the officer I was looking for a "model" for an adult film. He actually laughed in my face! I'm not sure what that meant -if it was a real way out or not- but since it was mostly a warning -like "get the hell off the streets"- there was no arrest or charges.

since i've seen this come up over an over (twice this weekend), i was just wondering if anyone with some real authority (legal or just industry-wise) knew this for sure

does the argument  "but officer, this was a porn video shoot, and here's the tape as proof!"  hold any water?

years ago, some industry friends told me that this only applied in California, but frankly that just doesn't sound right!  (?)

obviously some circuit touring girls are nowadays using this as "insurance" or at least just for peace-of-mind  (i guess some even do it practically for FREE for this very reason) -- fortunately for them no hobbyist would ever object!   LOL

There was a very lengthy discussion on this topic on my yahoo group between Stevi Secret, myself and several other posters, including a few lawyers.  It was informative and interesting, and fun to read as well.  Check it out.

I'm glad Ed brought up the discussion we had on his group (or I would have been tempted to start it all over here lol).  You've got to go back in the messages to #687 in Ed's group to find my original post on the subject.  The debate then raged for over a week.  Quite fascinating!

BTW, my position is that shooting videos is not prostitution can never be.  While I'm not a lawyer, I gained most of my knowledge when the Las Vegas police seized my video company (vidoes, files, computers everything)  back in 1995.  My photographer was charged with pandering. I've still got the story of our case plus how we fought the seizure and the charges successfully  up on the web. The story was written back in 1995 for the old Video Xcitment magazine.  It's still worth a read today. Be sure and check out the debate in Ed's groups as well. To get to the story of my pandering case in Vegas, just click the link!

the discussion on Eddie's yahoo group (which i can't seem to get to for some reason -- their "age-restricted" crap) and your own experiences from 1995, then what would the verdict be? ... just so we don't leave this thread hanging for posterity ... not to mention, inquiring and impatient porn-mongering minds wanna know right now!  LOL

so: this argument will work MOST/SOME of the time or NEVER?

thanks!  :)
