Screening, The necessary evil.

Many of you here have already dealt with this, many soon will and inevitably some of you are going to whine like little bitches when a provider asks you for simple information like your full name, who do you work for, and a phone number to the front desk/switchboard of your employer. The provider is NOT going to use this information to “out” you or extort you. She is opening up her home to you so she is protecting herself. You are but a voice on the phone or characters in an e-mail. She does not know if you are law enforcement, someone wishing to rob her or worse, or the most genteel and generous man she’ll ever meet.
For those hobbyists who are extremely sensitive about giving out the aforementioned information one of the surest ways to negate this need is the accruing of reviews here on TER. If the provider you wish to see can contact and verify with other providers you have seen prior the need for screening information is greatly reduced. Truly gentlemen; after I had about five reviews to my credit the only screening questions I have since heard is “when would you like to come over”?

In closing I would like to say that if you feel basic screening is invasive or violates your privacy consider then what you would counsel a good friend or family member if she were going into the business of being a provider.

  FR.

Is there any special screening necessary for the self employed?

I won't say that I'm entirely new to the sport, but until now I haven't been working out as much as I'd like.  The main reason is because I haven't figured out the "secret code."  By that I mean how does a gentelman determine whether the provider is neither law enforcement nor working a sting for "the man."  I am 100% on board with screening, but it goes both ways. I've heard that if you ask, "Are you law enforcement?" they must answer truthfully. But I don't relish the idea of putting that to the test. In fact, how can I know whether TER is not an elaborate front for a sting?  Paranoid? Perhaps. Ignorant? Definately. Horny?  Oh God yes! Many thanks!  Maltballs
P.S. I did search the board for this question before posting, but couldn't find it.

The "Are you law enforcemeny?" question is worthless.  A cop can lie.  What a cop can not do is be the one to suggest something illegal take place.  If the provider is asking a lot of questions -- what do you want to do?  What do you expect from this?  What's in it for me?  Are you saying you want this for that?  Basically, your best bet is to check references, just like the SP's best bet is to check your references.  Just remember, though, that this is an illegal activity and there's always a chance of getting busted.

Referrals from other trusted ladies is considered the gold standard for screening. However, if you are hobbying for the first time, that will be a problem. Other options include:

Lady performs verification

You give the lady your work and some personal information. Whatever she asks for. She verifies you, and if she is comfortable, will schedule a date. The date may proceed slowly until she is really comfortable that you are not LE. For instance, you may start the date sitting on the couch chatting with her. She becomes friendly - places her hand on your leg, touches your arm/hands. You put your arm around her. You kiss. etc.

Hobbyist Referral

If you have a friend that partakes, he can give you a referral to a lady he enjoys. The better he knows the lady, the more likely she is to accept his referral. Also, if he likes her that much, you are likely to have a good time too.

Verification Services

As of 2007, there are 3 major verification services that I am aware of:

www.roomservice2000.com
www.date-check.com
www.preferred411.com

Each has a different cost structure, and each seem to have ladies primarily in one area. Even though RS2K is primarily for Chicago, a lot of traveling ladies join for their trips to Chicago. Thus, getting verified with RS2K may open the door to a date with a traveling provider when she comes to your area.

They all work pretty much the same. For a new guy, you have to give them your work and other personal information. They verify the information, and then discard it. They only keep a record of certain membership information that the lady uses to confirm that you are the guy they verified. For instance, RS2K keeps your: Name/City/State (that is on your Driver's License), and phone number you use to hobby. You give the info to the Lady, the Lady runs the info through RS2K, if it all checks out, then she books the date, you call from your phone number to get her location, when you arrive, you leave your DL with the gift on the dresser, excuse yourself to the little boys room, she checks the info and your donation, and when you return, the party begins.

Note: The Verification Services will tell the lady whether other ladies have verified you. Some ladies will not accept the verification if you have not seen other ladies. Or, will treat the date like Lady Verification above.

Which one to join? I would first select a lady (or ladies), find out whether she accepts one of the services, and then join that service.

Meet and Greet

Some ladies will do, and one I dated even with impeccable referrals insisted upon, a platonic lunch/dinner/drink meeting. If she is comfortable with you after the meeting, she will schedule a more intimate date.

All I have is my direct phone number to my cubicle, and also my work email address.  And I certainly do not want to give RS2K my supervising manager's phone number.  That would raise really odd questions.

I have tried emailing RS2K twice now to ask them questions.  Because I do not want to waste $50.00 when they call my work number and it is me answering the phone.  I am not sure whether that will do it for them.  I guess they could 411 my work number after they call me, and it will say the Corporate Bank/Mortgage company that I work for.  But I am not sure they would go that far.  I could also email RS2K using my work email, but I am not sure that would count either.

This all makes perfect sense and I fully understand why providers would screen their clients.

What I wonder is: what's she going to say when she calls my work number? I work for a small company and everybody knows who I am.

If she calls and tells whoever answers that she's calling to verify that I work there, people are going to ask questions.  They may well think I've applied for a job elsewhere. They'll certainly think that I'm up to something.

I know that nobody can speak for another persons actions but generally, what do experienced providers say when they call?

I agree with what you are saying and truely despise the gentleman that thinks this is invasive.

this was extremely helpful as to I have no problem what so ever giving my personal info. I truly appreciate the safety of screening and I just hope when I decide to hobby(which will be soon) my personal info will be enough. My only fear is I want a quality provider and this will not be enough for her.

great tips! while i understand the safety of the sp to ask for references, what does a newbie do if they're from abroad? show their passport? help!
