I was also 10. Where has the time gone. Kennedy was President. Now I'm ducking girls born under Clinton. Only 3 presidents to cover 24 years.......
Another from the Oldies Jukebox. This was on the charts in Chicago from April through June;
on May 26 it became the first British recording to hit number 1 on the US Billboard Hot 100.
Other events of the year you oldsters might remember:
February 14: Jackie Kennedy's televised tour of the White House
August 5: Marilyn Monroe found dead
October 1: Johnny Carson becomes host of the Tonight Show
October 22: In a televised address to the nation, President Kennedy announces
there are Soviet missiles in Cuba
always my favorite instrument, Banny Goodman & especially Artie Shaw were my musical heroes. Shaw's 'Frenesi' & 'Begin the Beguine' were the very best! Always thought that, when I retired, I'd try to learn to play; haven't done a damn thing! Maybe I'll look into it now?
I was 10 in 1962, but I do remember the song, the wonderful MM, the tour of the White House and the missiles in Cuba.
Thanks for shaking those cob webs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
