..why John Medlen left "The Force"?

Yea, looked like conditions were perfect at Gainesville.  However, I'm still wishing they'd come up with a new and improved safety run-out and return to the Quarter Mile.

1000 feet!    I was at about 660 feet - where he was already going 280mph!   The Army team certainly has the benefit of big dollars but you got to perform.  And he and the team certainly do in the most brutal and hard to predict motorsports class.

I'm surprised that no funny car broke the 4 second mark but it just didn't happen.

Now for the pussy part - the Geico girls are really hot with nice camel toes showing.

Nitro and pussy.  What a combo!  Beats the hell out of that basketball stuff you all are going on and on about!

Midnight in Gainesville and I'm not getting laid tonight :-(

Until I realized that you didn't include a picture of the Geico girls.

Medlen loves to have the responsibility to tune a car and he had lost that when Force went to 3 cars.   Neff is being groomed to be the replacement for Coil, who is (I think) losing his touch.   Fedderly is older guy too and he'll give up soon.  Guido Antonelli is probably in the top 3 tuners of fuel cars.

Force is a superstar of superstars in drag racing but he's also a pain in the ass to work for.   He can really, really grate on the nerves.   But you can't argue with success and he is only rivaled by Schumacher racing.

You don't know me, I know..but I've been around drag racing since '65...from a kid painting numbers on cars to running a drag strip and a racer (plus some SCCA and IMSA stuff).  I love, love nitro racing - they are the most brutal cars in any racing and amazingly powerful.  It's also a sport that's not appreciated enough by the sporting press.

I know John Medlen "casually" and there is no finer man.  Naturally he loved his son Eric and for him to leave Force had to be tough.  If there's something else other than the two things above..I haven't heard it.

By the way, John Medlen is single handedly responsible for about 10 safety changes in two years that are not implemented on Top Fuel, Funny Car and Alcohol Dragster and Funny Car.   In fact the roll cage cross bracing was implemented in Pro Stock and the recent crashes at Phoenix showed a remarkable integrity of the roll cages.  I saw a bunch of pictures of Deciglies car and it was really intact.
