I saw Butkus play in both college and the pros. He was so good
that teams used to alter their offenses just to deal with him. Indeed, he was a one man NFL highlight tape of "Greatest Hits." The guy was a legend in his own time. Singletary was great - no question - as were a few others, but IMHO they all paled next to Butkus.

But 45% of fans did pick DB. I'm not so old that I saw Butkus play.
Within my meager time frame I would pick Mike Singletary.
