Since when has treason been patriotic?

Earlier this month my state Governor decided it was a nifty idea to proclaim April "Confederate History Month" in Virginia.

Of course, this is coming from a guy said that we should raise taxes on homosexuals, called women with jobs detrimental to familes, and said that gov't should be used to punish people who look at porn, so we all know this guy is playing with a full deck.

But what's most disturbing about this nitwit declaring April "Confederate History Month" is that April is an important month for American Treason.

On April 19th 1993 shit went down in Waco. On April 19th 1995 shit went down in Oklahoma City. April 20th is also an interesting day in history. April 20th 1889 is the birthdate of none other than Adolf Hitler.

Is there a connection? You bet. Tim McVeigh was a white supremacist, and a fan of the Turner Diaries, a book that's quite popular among the white power movement in this country. It was an inspiration for the murderers of Alan Berg and James Byrd. It talks about a violent overthrow of the US government, leading ultimately to a race war where all Jews and non-whites are killed.

It seems McDonnell and his ilk long for the Confederacy, and the hope of the perpetuation of black slavery the same way neo-nazis long for the "glory days" the Third Reich. Really, they're one in the same.

McDonnell's move was a symbolic one. A move that every white supremacist in the United States understands. It's a move to say that "I'm one of you". And this is the man that the Republican Party chose to give the reply to Barack Obama's State of the Union Address: The "future" of the Republican Party.

At this point, the Republican party are supporters of Treason, both in the past, and in the present. They're supporters of white supremacy. They even support the lynching of Democratic members of Congress. It's time they're called out on it.
