I read this article last night and found it to be quite an interesting view of why men see escorts.

He is why "some" men see escorts. Some just want their nut. In an hour. Or less. Kinda like martinizing, whatever that is. lol. Sending out Town cars, hanging out with girls and sometimes not having sex, spending 50 large on the hobby a year...of course this goes on in the hobby but the 1 hour for $300-$400 get off and get right back to work/home is more the rule. Just my 2 cents.

The portrayal of the girls is very, very glamourized.  It's not that way with many of the girls.

It's not necessarily a dark sob story a la "American Courtesans," either.  It's just that it's not all shopping and trips and vacations.

That is true...I stand corrected.  :)  If I could only be so lucky as to find a client like "Jack"...lol

I've known "Jacks" and currently portray myself as a "Katelyn." That portrayal is all about pride for both, it has nothing to do w/reality.

For reasons of my own - I'd rather have a 60-year-old unsociable fatso than a Jack. Mostly having to do w/the fact that I am not a 'party girl' (article didn't say but after working in NYC for 5+ years I can read between the 'lines' --> so to speak, lol).

I was Katelyn for a VERY short time. Facials, trips to Europe, hot yoga sessions, ski vacations, shopping at Bloomie's, art classes, meals in restaurants, French conversation & cultural parties, late nights in posh clubs. GREAT as a novelty. But it gets old. That lifestyle is about as meaningful as taking a shit, unless you really have zero ambition. Personally, I started doing this to give myself a little help in life to get where I wanted to be - NOT to get used to luxuries. I find being Katelyn boring as hell. And trust me - Katelyn's clients are not mostly "Jacks," there are plenty of declassee, unglamorous realities associated with being a Katelyn.

If that's your idea of reality (not YOU specifically, but those who are Katelyns), then you are gonna have a hard landing when you realize that there isn't a guy around to subsidize that lifestyle any longer.

She's smart! She's investing her money under the advice of her CEO clients, and she's using her free time to improve herself! So in 10 years, her stock dividends will allow her ample means to paint her toenails all day, if that's what she wants :-D Or maybe she'll pay for a degree from an Ivy and work the rest of her days at a Fortune 500.

Just partially joking, I know some girls (but generally not the girls who live beyond their means) who really do invest in school or businesses. Know just as many girls who live the life of Paris Hilton but are always coming up short on cash. They go to school sometimes, too, but never seem to finish, or if they do, don't find anything [insert: lucrative enough] to do w/the degree or certificate.

It's truly sad, but I can't single them out.  Wall Streeters, athletes, dot-commers...many people just don't invest their money well, and they just spend it like it will continue to come.

Very true crazy. But not terribly surprising given the fact that financial literacy is not really taught in schools unless one majors in business, finance etc. in college. I believe the basics should be required, beginning in high school. Then again, I know others who never made the big bucks but for various reasons have done quite well financially and learned how to grow what they did have into tidy nest eggs.
As for myself, I worked hard, lived within my means and ended up lucking out so to speak with an investment that allowed me the economic freedom to do as I wish. I've never hired a financial adviser, feeling that no one will watch my money as well as I do myself. And I never invest in anything if I feel I don't fully understand it.   Regards....RR

Most high-end escorts I know are hustling pretty hard to get business going.  It's not like business is just coming to them right now.

Where I smell a rat is the idea that Katelyn keeps a 3 ring binder of spreadsheets on all her clients.  Any provider would have to be insane to keep such a thing--unless she was storing up blackmail material--and I don't believe for a moment that anyone who would keep such a file would just whip it out to show a reporter.  Unless that reporter was Stephen Glass.
