STD risk for receiving BBJCIM?

Does anyone have any definitive numbers on the risk of getting herpes, etc. when on the receiving end of unprotected oral sex?

Once the session is over, is there anything that can be done to lessen the risk?  Drugs that kill possible infection, etc.

If you're really concerned; keep a small 3 to 5oz. container of isopropyl alcohol in your jacket pocket and douse your dick privately in the bathroom afterwards.

hard to get it in that size, i wash with soap and water and then wash again with isopropanol when I get home.  Soap should probably get rid of anything on the surface of the skin, but isopropanol would be better.  But it does sting the balls for about a minute or so.

Not that I am a proponent of, or would even consider, an isopropanol wipe down, but . . .

if that's your thing and you can't find a small size bottle, why not take one of those small 3 oz mouthwash bottles and refill it with isopropanol? Just remember not to gargle!

I thought you were just kidding.  So isopropyl alcohol really would help you think?  do you think it'd be useful 24 hours later?

thanks Hyabby for that thought, I might peel off the label and try it sometime.  Soapboy, soap act differently than isopropanol.  Soap acts like an emulusion and binds to dirt, and viruses and carries it away with the water.  Isopropanol denatures viruses and kills live organisms (bacteria), so I think it's more potent.  This is not my field, but this is what I am thinking anyway from what I read. You need to ask the experts (medhelp board) to know if it will do any good.  Soap should probably be enough if you wash the areas thoroughly and rinse with water.  Isopropanol, like 70% ethanol will denature and kill organisms, so I prefer it.  But like I said it stings the balls, for minutes.  NOt as bad as extra strenght bengay, but still you might not be able to move for a few minutes.  It should be done almost immediately after the act, 24 hours later is toooo long.  With bbbj it won't help so much because things can get inside the penis through the opening.  Maybe look over the medhelp board, and do some searches.  It is the best site I know of for STD info.

stupidly, i did douse myself with the isopropyl alcohol 24 hours later, lol.  you're right, it hurt like a motherfucker.  psychologically though, it did make me feel better.

After reading the medhelp boards, I'm thinking that if I can last a couple of weeks without any symptoms, I'm probably in the clear.  My only real concern is HSV-1 herpes, since that is untreatable.  However, a few weeks without symptoms should resolve me of that fear.  That day can't come soon enough, because everytime i go pee now, I hold my breath for a second fearing that I'm going to feel a burning sensation.

herpes I isn't nearly as bad as herpes II which reoccurs around the genitals.  Herepes I many times doesn't even show symptoms, and if it does, it seems to show up one time and doesn't reoccur. Burning during urination could be bacterial infection anyway which is curable.  Very little chance you caught anything.  Most guys do bbbbj all of the time and don't catch anything.  But the odds increase, and sometimes you hear of the SO getting a bacterial infection (which are more common) and she hasn't seen anyone.  That's what I worry about.  But don't count on what I've said, I'm just trying to help a little bit; I'm only mentioning what I have read.  Opinions on the various sites also tend to differ a little bit.

Shit!! I spray a bit of cologne on and around my jewels immediately after dry-shaving them before a tryst. Try buck'n up and be a man for Krysakes.

24 hours after is a bit late for any positive effect from the isopropyl bath. If there were any nefarious micro-organisms to worry about they had long since found a path into your epidermis or beyond.

WHOA WHOA WHOA guys.... STD's are not transmitted through the skin of the penis. They are transmitted through the wet areas i.e. - the urethra (not Aretha-she's a singer). When the virus enters into that tube inside your pecker, thats how you catch it - not from the skin that surrounds your pecker. Alcohol would do abolutely nothing in my humble opinion.

Ok, I've been thinking about this alot and hey Im a BBBJ fan myself so here goes, submitted for your approval. Assuming your circumcized, put the condom just on the head of your pecker and have the lady go just below that on the sensitive area - you know the ring around the pecker that feels good. you get a BBBJ that way, real tongue to pecker contact, but dont have to worry about the STD thing.

I got kind of bored today and decided to flip through the discussion board for Newbs. I happen to run across this thread.

Herpes and other STD's can most definitely be transmitted through mere physical contact, although the "skin to skin" transmission rates are MUCH lower when compared to "mucous membrane to mucous membrane" transmission rates.

Focussing specifically on oral and genital herpes, there isn't any real "scientific" evidence out there that would recommend an optimal form of post-exposure prophylaxis (ie: methods to protect yourself from contracting a medical condition after being exposed to a risk factor). Washing your genitals with alcohol or cleaning out your urethra out with a Q-Tip dipped in alcohol (OUCH) hasn't really been studied to my knowledge, so no on can really attest that it works (or doesn't work). As for taking anti-viral medications, reasearch hasn't really proven that it helps (or hurts) to do so.

Hope that helps...

The risk is more for the provider. A good provider gets tested once a month or once every 3 months. A good one will ask you before she does BBBJ, have you had a STD check.

Realize that some STDs can re-appear years later.

I haven't been doing this too long, but none of the ladies I've seen have asked me if I had an STD check.

Most assume that guys are getting checked. I had to tell a provider never assume that. Many times I have had to request a cover for a blow job. They act shocked that I would request a cover. On 2nd or 3rd visits they needed to be reminded or just went for my dick.

I posted this link on the Washington board for your question also (see attached link below).  I don't get bbbj (everything covered), and after the session I always ask to take a shower, I think most guys do.  Wash the areas well with soap and water.  I have heard that HSV2 needs to be massaged onto the skin and vaginal fluid alone probably won't give it to you (or else we'd all have it).  Herpes I is the kissing herpes and probably more than 50% of the people have this.  Don't kiss anyone with lesions on their lips!  Asymptomatic shedding occurs like 3-5% of the time, but I don't think it will give you herpes if you wash with soap and water.  I use a mouthwash afterward and rub it on the lips, don't know if it does any good or not.  HSV (herpesI) is very common -50% have it (I am likely already to have it, so are you), many get it from their parents in childhood.  You can however get it in the genital region.  Do a search on this board, I posted a few links with the past 30 days on health topics like these including herpes I vs  herpes II link.  Post a question on the medhelp STD board, only a few bucks, well worth the peace of mind.

Any recommendations for a reliable CBJ product that provides some degree of sensitivity but good coverage? (aspartame-free would be a plus)

I think for women the main thing is that you don't want the guy to CIM (although you might have to worry about precum, etc).  For a guy I think that if there are no herpesI lesions around the mouth then bacterial infection are the biggest worry.  I think giving a guy a tounge massage around the shaft is better, as long as you avoid the head.

A more likely infection from BBBJ is chlamydia (i.e. "the clap"), a bacterial infection of the urethra.  The bacteria can grow in the warm area of the back of the throat and be transmitted to the penis during oral sex.  It is possible for a person to have it grwoing in the throat for several weeks with no symptoms.  If infected, it is easily cured with a round of antibiotics.  However, the discharge associated with infection can be rather painful and embarrassing.   In my opinion, BBBJ is a gamble, particularly if you are involved with someone who doesn't need to know about your outside hobby.  It is quite easy get I BBBJ from someone and have the bacteria in your urethra, then have sex with someone else before your symptoms are noticed and then give them the disease.  Just something to keep in mind.

"The Clap" does not refer to chlamydia.  When you get the clap, you have gonorrhea not chlamydia.
