he stake house that has the buzz is STK at 1250 Connecticut Avenue (Connecticut and N Street).  The Palm is a block away (1225 19th Street)

I went to STK and the vibe wasn't really what I was looking for. Maybe with a few girlfriends it would have been perfect.

On a serious note, Joe's is one of the best in DC

Mocha knows her stuff.  Its not a crab shack on the Eastern Shore w/ plastic bibs.  The last fish I had they flew in from Alaska caught within 24 hours.

Best Key Lime pie in the country, period.

I don't like key lime or crab unless in crab cakes but their various steaks ...

... (esp their Porterhouse if I'm feeling particularly baller), chicken dishes, oysters (which I guess they can't really credit for but they are SUPER fresh) and Lamb Chops are absolutely everything!  
Now for dessert their Havana Dream Pie or their Apple Pie w/ ice cream I can get behind :).
