Will be visiting DC next month and being that Im unfamiliar with the area....What are some good places to stay? PM responses that include specifics please

Without being too specific, I would suggest Crystal City, Tysons Corner, and Dupont Circle.  
I've enjoyed hosting in Bethesda too.  
But many (providers and hobbyists) seem to be split as to whether Bethesda should be a destination.

 
There are usually amazing deals on 3 and 1/2 and 4 star hotels near Dulles Airport and in Rockville.
But both locations are pretty far out and hobbyists who don't live or work nearby often can't justify the travel time

I would definitely recommend dupont circle and tysons corner
