I like to have a great time with a provider enjoying some good chitchat.  
One may bring a bottle of wine or some fruit to spice the section a bit with the provider.  
The question is, beyond wine or chocolates what other things would also be ideal?

Many ladies will appreciate anything- because the thought is what counts. However, gift cards are always a fabulous option. If you don't know her taste, you can go with something generic like amazon. If you know where she likes to shop, you can be more specific. It's always a very nice gesture.

The best gift I can get is a donation to the charity I have mentioned on my website. I have received other lovely gifts as well perfume, lingerie, etc. But nothing makes me happier then when I check my charity email and see that someone has donated. I also offer an extended date for those gentlemen that give from their heart.

If this is the first time you are meeting I would suggest anything you bring be store sealed. Meaning If I don't know a client and he brings homemade cookies… they are going into the rubbish. I know it sucks and hurts me deeply as a certified cookie monster but…trust is built over time. Bring cookies, fruit, wine-but make sure it's sealed.

Other than that gift certificates are universally appreciated. Whether it be a large amount at Nordstrom or a smaller amount at say…Target. They are all pretty useful and smile inducing.

I wouldn't drink at my day job, and I don't like to drink during appts. for the same reason. People bring wine sometimes and I will have a polite sip or two but that's it. I don't need it to have a good time. I would prefer for alcohol not to enter the equation at all.  I get nervous when clients imbibe during an appointment because you never know how people are going to act under the influence.
