I see I'm not the only one who got caught.  I agree that I've had so much fun with these lovely women that it's hard to think of it ending after 4 years

We all have needs that I feel most wives fail to understand and most men fail to articulate. (and vice versa)

Forgive me for the pedantic stance but hopefully this'll help those of us with the primal need.

I think the post does a good job of stating the perspective that most husbands fail to state themselves.

So, anything you can share with the community to help us know what could be done differently as to get caught. :-P

No matter how clever we think we are, an SO may very well have a intuitive knowledge of us that tells her something is amiss, and if she looks hard enough, there may be clues.

She saw a Twitter message from me to a provider.  She's pissed but wants to work it out.

Twitter messaging doesn't prove anything. Of course, if you've already fessed to the deed(s), then you're cooked.

Most wives don't want to believe their husbands are capable of straying (nor do they want a divorce) and will meet you more than half way in a semi-plausible story to preserve the status quo.

The worst thing you can do is confess. I truly believe the wives would rather buy the lie rather than put their faith in the promise of changed future ways -- which is a very tough sell, in any circumstance.

Discretion in all things.

Wow, Duchess - laying down some cold hard truth.

It's fascinating to hear a female perspective on getting caught.  Any others out there care to share??

Back when I was hobbying occasionally, I also had civilian partners.  For Mutual Assured Destruction strategy the only civilians I played with were also married.  Before any clothes were shed we discussed needs and methods of discretion and secrecy.  I was also a member of a married-but-looking internet discussion board in those days, and I connected with one of my partners through that board.  Several months after our relationship faded and we stopped seeing each other and she stopped posting to the board, I wrote a post on the board discussing how much fun I was having with a new partner.  Ex-partner (who knew my real identity) was still reading the board, took exception and  tracked down wife to out me.   Wife was upset but I think there was some wilful ignorance going on before the bust.  It turned out that the bunny boiler had a Don't Ask Don't Tell arrangement in her marriage, so the MAD policy didn't work
