Thinking with the two little brains leads to sending deposits and gift cards, kind of laughable but I can see how the prior good reviews could lead a guy toward buying a harsh lesson.
In the last 4-5 years 2 major changes have made "the hobby" more difficult to navigate. 1) Personal pay sites like OnlyFans, JustForFans etc., are a money making opportunity that many providers can sell pics and videos of themselves. I don't blame them for hustling at all. 2) 15-20 years ago most agencies evolved to online provider ad spaces without any accountability. They allow providers to advertise in multiple cites at the same time. This has made way for providers to multiply their hustle tenfold. TS4Rent for example has multiple providers who live in Europe, are never going to visit the US but advertise a tour on their ad page. Luckily it's somewhat easy to spot by clicking on the map that shows them still in another country during the sates they're saying they will be in NY, LA, Boston, Chicago etc. The dates they list are also to close together to be realistic for a tour, 1-2 days in each location. EROS and others also allow providers to advertise in multiple cities.
Ultimately, it's business 101. ALL escort add sites make their sole or primary income from provider ads regardless of your membership fee or not. The only thing you can do is not pay to be a member of that site and realize they have a conflict of interest and won't do much about it becasue providers pay their bills. Providers will continue to take every opportunity to market and advertise themselves and their personal pay sites. Again, it's business 101, aka greed.
What is also beginning to happen is all of the personal pay sites are allowing more and more bait and switch by their "content creators". For example, I joined a girls OF page for about $10-$12, the content was R rated some X stuff but no XXX content. I noticed a welcome message from her saying buy this intro package of all my best XXX content, naming literal things you would see; fucking, sucking, 69, toys, etc., and you needed to buy it in the introductory window. It was a good hustle, I bought it for another $39 but didn't find anything more than before. I messaged OnlyFans and described it the same way, saying it was clear bait and switch but they said it didn't violate any terms of their agreement with creators or viewers.
Maybe if it continues to cross the line it will become a big lawsuit when some attorneys and or politicians get had lol. But, I see this as the next evolution of a very unfair advantage among the personal pay sites. Andrea, the girl in the link, regardless what you think of her as a provider is a very good business woman. She hustles and removes money from your wallet without seeing you and without showing you much on her OF page either, is that her fault? I agree it's becoming more and more a disadvantage but I don't blame her I blame the escort ad sites and personal pay sites.
Remember when OF was going to remove XXX content and the girls were freaking out. Is that ever really going to happen, OF is grossing 6 billion+ a year now, 80% or more of the content is XXX. Understand the business side of the hobby more and it may help you use the big head when it counts to make better choices.
