DD/MM/YYYY Or MM/DD/YYYY...I'm So Confused!?!?!?!?
So I was trying to figure out how to write the date for something I was posting on one of the Canadian boards. I've done some international travel as of late and it occurred to me that the way I was used to writing the date might not be the way that most Canadians were used to seeing it written.
So I Googled it. That was no help. It seems that there is a great debate here in Canada too about how it should be written. Taking that into consideration, I understand that my question might be kind of redundant. But I'm asking it anyway. How the heck should I write it? Day first? Month first? Should I just write the month out instead of in numeric form to avoid any possible confusion? Help?!?!?!?!?DD-MM-YYYY, whereas in the USA it's MM-DD-YYYY
I often use - and sometimes you will see - the IEEE standard, which is the best, it goes from largest to smallest:
YYYY-MM-DD-HH-MM-SS (Note: HH is the military or 24 hour clock. It goes 0 - 24, not 0 -12)
Just to avoid confusion. The 3 letter abbreviation for the month should be sufficient for anyone and everyone to understand.
