Points for creativity???

I got a text message this morning that said: "So in all honesty, did you like me, would you want to hang out again?"  Nice message, except for the tiny fact that I don't recognize the number and have no idea who sent it. I replied "I don't know who this is" and the return message was "Marissa, we hung out yesterday at (name of popular local cafe)."  Just another spam scam.  Beware, they are getting creative out there!

Yes scammers are creative trying to find any way to hook you into a conversation. See the post below on pig butchering.
I get these all the time on text and WhatsApp. Best to not respond or block if they persist. If they believe you’re active the may try from another account.

The only problem is that I hand out my text number to potential sugar babes like candy.  So when one of these scam texts arrive I have to try to figure out if it is from one of the lovelies, since a lot of the time they just assume I know who is responding.

When I give them my text number I always say, when you text me be sure to say it's "XXXXX"  (whatever their screen name is) so I know it's you. Once they actually do identify themselves in this way I will text them another photo of me, one that's not on my SA profile, and ask them to do the same.

If at all possible, try to get their number before giving out yours. This way, in the first text you can say "hey SCREEN NAME" then going forward you'll always have their screen name in the text chain in the event you're juggling multiple SBs and you forget who's who.
