Okay, I'm a total noob with this scene.  I created a free profile on SA.  As soon as my private picture got approved, I have been getting hammered with emails from SA due to many SBs who have viewed/favorited my profile, as well as messaged me.  Now I have to put up or shut up and pony up for the regular membership.  I have been seeing pros for years now, due to the fact the civvies refuse to give me the time of day.  Now I feel so weird and a little frightened, I'm ashamed to say.  I have been reading here for a while, as recommended.  I guess I need a little hand-holding or a wingman!

Other than the fact that you have to pony up a bit of money to use SA properly?

Is there a problem with the pros you've been seeing?  Why do you want to now try out the SD scene?

1- There are definitely SA "operatives" whose purpose is to reel you in so that you purchase membership. You will be surprised as to how fast the Likes and the Faves would cease to exist after you pony up, unless you have written an incredibly enticing profile, wipe your arse with $100 bills and are build in Adonis's mold! If these teasers are out of your immediate geographical area, especially from overseas, just ignore. Most of these are meant as an ego booster for you to part away with that $79.95 (or perhaps more)

2- There are also the SBs who are legit and they prey on noobs. Most are fugly or there's something quite off putting about them. You will find this type to be really good wordsmiths who can write alluring missives.

You will truly not learn anything tangible in the sugar realm unless you apply yourself and invest some skin in the game. Lastly if you are older, balder, fatter, shorter, pauper, etc; don't get too flattered by this rush of initial interest. Your mettle will be tested once you actually dip your toes in! Good luck.

He's just got the noob's angst because as he had already admitted, he's not used to the kind of attention he's been getting. This rush of attention is merely ephemeral and will vanish rather rapidly once he's fully on board. He will then most likely have to fight for scarps like most of us unless he is exactly as I had characterized in my other post :D

You don't need a notification every single time someone views your profile... or even favorites you for that matter. I only have my notifications set for when I receive a message. Will cut down the unnecessary emails.

As for the rest, princess is right... you really just need to jump in and try it out to see if it is your cup of tea. It's not for everyone though and it can get tiring and frustrating at times. While there is a P4P element to it, it also functions like a traditional dating site, so you have to have at least either a little bit of "game" or else a good amount of $$ to get the hotties on there interested in you to have any modicum of success.

My suggestion would be to pony up for a month to try it out and set up some dates. Then about 2 weeks in, if you haven't gotten laid or are getting shot down a lot, go see a pro so you don't come off to the SA girls as overly desperate. Finish the rest of the 2 weeks off and then at least take a month off before deciding if you want to go back and try again. Report back here how it goes once you do.

Just agree to meet some of the more interesting ladies for coffee.  I mentioned that I would pay them for their time in my profile, so they knew I wasn't a time waster.   Don't rush it. After meeting a few potential SBs, you'll meet one that stands out.  (And makes you stand up, so to speak.). Make up your mind what your budget is before you start all this.

Agreed.  Until or unless you have a steady stream of SBs, mix in an occasional pro, so that you are getting some action and not frustrated or desperate in interacting with SBs.  I look at the hobby and sugar world as complements, not purely as substitutes.  When things are lean in the sugar world, hop back into the hobby at least briefly.

It can be frustrating at times.  But other times it just works perfectly and becomes a smooth source of very sweet pussy.  Just go for it, refine your technique as you go, and report back here with your experiences!

I'm just nervous, that's all.  There is no problem with the pros, it's just that I've been reading here lately and drooling at the prospect of nailing young coeds who are not pros.
