I’ve just started reading The Erotic Highway finding the questions and comments very interesting until some one puts an acronym in that is not on the list here on TER.  Stop making shit up! How are we supposed to understand what you’re talking about if your acronym is not on the list????

Sugar dating is not mongering, though most of see some overlap.  So the standard monger TLA List (Three-Letter Acronym) won't always cover the TLA's in sugar dating.  

 
Just ask, Padawan. The Sugar-Jedi Masters will help you find enlightenment.

PS: Thanks for actually reading past posts, it is appreciated. Too may come here with basic questions that can be answered in our post history (unless they have cryptic acronyms! LOL).

First, I'll agree that some abbreviations or acronyms do seem to be totally bespoke and not understandable w/o asking the poster to explain. Sometimes, they'll use a GRAS (generally regarded as safe; used for food additives) acronym but use it for a one time purpose wrongly considering it to be GRAS (generally regarded as standard -- NOT!!).

More prolific contributors want to add info but with less typing so they use TLAs a lot. Sometimes you can figure it out in context. If you can't:  
- Try Urban Dictionary http://www.urbandictionary.com  
- Do feel free to post and ask for clarification
- - Sometimes, you'll smack your head just after posting when the meaning hits you
- - in which case you can delete your post or add "Doh! Got it! Never mind."

You can also consider it to be good practice for dealing with SBs that might be chronologically or culturally different from you and are using words, phrases, and TLAs that mean nothing to you.

GRAS = Generally Recognized as Safe.
Might seem minor to you but a big deal to FDA if you understand the GRAS concept.

PISHBMC = Perhaps I should have been more clear. I know what GRAS is. YIKES! I mistyped "regarded" instead of "recognized." My bad.

As I _almost_ wrote in my post, above, GRAS = Generally Recognized As Safe.

Any informed US reader knows GRAS from newspapers, magazines, and even TV stories about our food supply or cooking shows or food blogs and websites.

However, sometimes a person who doesn't know that GRAS has a pretty well known expansion will make up their own meaning that THEY think makes sense and is reasonable but will leave everyone else scratching their head. You can't claim that GRAS means "generally regarded as standard" (because it doesn't) and write "I'm using the acronym GRAS because it is GRAS." because it is NOT "standard."

People make up their own abbreviations on unedited forums such as TER

Back to the OP (original poster; original post), it's OK (okay; not Oklahoma) to AFC = ask for clarification when SUANSA = someone uses a non-standard abbeviation.

POT = potential (POT SB)
