This is a question for both providers and hobbyists.  How many people (besides your hobby partners) know that you are involved with this hobby?
Many of the providers I have seen have told me they have family members and/or friends who know.  
Were you ever forced to tell someone because you were careless?  How did they react?

virtually everybody in my life, right up to and including my mother, know what a whoremonger pig I am. I don't make even the slightest effort to hide it as I am not a bit ashamed of it.

But now and then I get a vibe that they have an inkling of what I do.

As long as all are discrete, I really don't care.

Oh, there is one major exception:  my ex

I"m not embarrassed about what I do and prefer not to lie about it.  So I've told everyone that matters.  No one really blinked an eye.  Most of the guys like to live vicariously through my stories.

Everyone in my life knows including my parents.  Everyone fully supports my decision.  If people don't like my life they don't have to be part of it. Hell my dad said if he had a pussy he'd be rich lol!!! Now that shocked me! My mom wasn't as happy but when I explained that I wasn't on a corner with a pimp n how we have ways of keeping safe then she was ok with it I'm truly blessed to have such wonderful people in my life that are not judgemental

I've come close a couple of times to tell my brother but a secret is only a secret when you're the only one who knows.  I have to be careful to not put myself in a position where forced to reveal.  

When the hobby is de-criminalized & society quits trying to force the Quaker morality on all of us...   maybe things will change.  Or then again, maybe some other answer to sex-less marriages will surface.

As for my mother, she is still Facebook family with one of my ex hooker, Ex GF's, Not to mention that we are supposed to go visit my mother again together sometime in the next couple of months.

Not one solitary soul in my real life knows about the hobby. I have had a couple of close calls though.

except for those I met doing this. I have a couple of clients, who are now just friends... they have met my family and know me personally. Have to be selective on that because you never know what someone will do when they get mad. An ex-girlfriend knew but that was because she was doing this and got me thinking of doing it.

I won't tell anyone, just don't want to hear their opinion or have them worry. When it comes a point where I am very serious about a SO, I will tell him or her... til then I keep things to myself. (Right or wrong). Almost told a SO once, then I broke it off for other reasons before I said anything. Some people like blackmailing, got to watch out for self.

Heck I even introduced my close friend to the whole scene and now he gets for than me!

I feel like getting older, my peers are becoming more and more accepting with the hobbying. When I first joined TER, it was something unimaginable. And now talking with friends who are soon graduating college and going to work in banking, "hookers" is something that is semi expected.  

Funny how we are becoming to accept this.

My clients & the person who introduced me into the lifestyle... Other then that NO ONE!!! they know me as an academic scholar & socialite... What can I say I have a pretty fab life using this lifestyle a a stepping stone for a better future!!!

It isn't hidden at all. Both me and my wife are out. I have no idea how many know but in my inner circle of people I call friends and family everyone but my son knows I see sex worker and my wife works at a brothel. My son has hinted he is figuring things out. I am trying to protect him from this but my cousin found out and outed me to hurt me and my wife went public to deflect my families attacks. Now half of them will not talk to us the others try to save us from time to time.

but I don't hide it either.  I kinda wish my ex wife didn't know, but she also knows her affairs started me on this path.  She has the nerve to call providers whores...she's a great one to talk.  I could tell you some stories about her...

Some activity I had back in the 90's and 80's but no one in RL outside of providers and my regularly scheduled testing doctor at the clinic know that I have sex with anyone other than my wife (and the doc just thinks I cheat, doesn't know with whom or for how much.)  Been married since the later 90's and started seeing providers again in 2003-04 so basically nobody knows what I do but me.

Most of the people I work with ( I still show the guys pics once in a while) and my close family.  Oh, and my ex-wife and kids since it was the reason for the divorce.
