but all in all I don't think it is a common occurrence.....Ask yourself this these two questions.......
1. Would a man fall for a provider half his age who is hot, sexually gratifying and perhaps mentally stimulating?2. Then ask yourself, would a hot provider fall for a man twice her age and a pot belly? Weighing those two questions and absent an anomaly or two should also answer your question
I guess some guys GFE fantasy threshold is a lot lower than others.
but yes, using this board as an example, it's definitely clients. "I've fallen for a provider and cant' get up" posts have to outnumber "I've fallen for some old fat bald dude" posts by at least a hundred to one.

Seriously though, there should be no falling in love in the hobby. It's a perfect arrangement and love or the notion of it seems to fuck things up. Play, have fun, like your friends but leave love out of it.I am in love for the full 60 minutes. On occasion 90 minutes.

Now, about this provider/client game. Is it just another one-question IQ Test? Like Duh! Or, is it a game of words? Like if, since everybody else is taking Client, let's say I took Provider. Could I make up my own definition of "fall in love?" Like, providers don't go goose crazy over clients, but they might fall in love (by my definition) four or five times a day if all their clients are minty fresh and circumcised. Does that work!?Generally, providers see far more men than clients see providers, so we fall for guys probably much less often, but it definitely goes both ways.

I want to draw attention to the phrasing of the question: "...fall in love with one another?" Since providers socialize with each other much more than hobbyists ever get together with other hobbyists, and since providers often engage in lesbian activity especially in doubles, it seems far more likely that providers would more frequently fall in love with each other than that hobbyists would fall in love with each other.

I have had LTR's with more than a few providers over the years and I KNOW at least a couple of them were completely in love with me. Several of the others were either looking for a meal ticket, just having fun, or outright trying to play me, but there were at least a couple that I would bet my life were in love with me. So from first hand experience I can state for a fact it happens.
But the OP's question was "which happens more?" and I think it's pretty clear that the guys fall for the women a LOT more often than the other way around.

Before I got into the hobby there were probably a hundred women who I slept with, not counting one night stands. I sure wasn't in love with every one of them, and I doubt they were all in love with me, but the thing is, none of them EVER asked me to pay to sleep with them.
Now, I'm relatively new to P4P. I was probably nearly as old as GaG is now when I took up the sport. So I really don't know all the things that can happen. I've had several ongoing relationships, and like I've said many times there are a myriad types of love, all with as much integrity as the romcom classic traditional notion of love, but still...id like to know your penis size, annual salary and general physique please, thanks............lol

The males do take an equal role in raising the chick they sire.
Some other birds do, however, mate for life, but hardly all. Many are just as promiscuous as.....humans!
I think most of us who are self aware and honest with ourselves can tell when another person's feelings are genuine.
Keep in mind I have been with hundreds of civvies and thousands of providers, over a very long period of time. I do have the law of averages working for me. Even if only one in a thousand women I have been with ever fell in love with me, well that still means more than a couple. lol
But while I agree that taking money out of the equation, I have had many providers that I have seen without any exchange of money at some point in our relationship, only a very small handful of these women ever had feeling that ever approached actual "love"
When you find someone that you feel a real connection with, it is really not something that you can often help. It happens to men and women, and I am sure neither of them went into the situation hoping to fall for the other. They were just both there to have fun and were open to forming a connection in hopes of enhancing the experience, but not looking for love. However, when you open to forming a connection, sometimes that connection formed is really strong and happens really fast.
I have had some pretty decent friendships with both men and women from this world over the years. I have known of situations where the lady was definitely quickly in love with the gentleman, and times where the gentleman was head over heels for the lady. Occasionally, it is a very mutual thing, but as in life, it often seems that one person is far more into the other, then vice versa. It is really great if two people can be really into each other and care about one another, but keep their lives and situations in perspective. On the other hand, it can be really bad if one person knows the other is really into the situation and utilizes that for their advantage. I have seen this happen on both sides. Men who have known that a lady had real feelings for him, and would spend time with her, just to get free sex; and women who would take advantage of a guy’s feelings to get him to see her more often or “loan” her money. Lets all hope that we can respect each other and have fun and not attempt to take advantage of any situations that arise like this
