Around here, there are enough trolls who will inevitably restart one of three threads:
Is she really low volume
Clients and Providers who fall for each other
Why do I have to give screening information? Can't you trust me

they wanted to avoid all the whining and crying that would likely result from a complete change of the site. (I'm paraphrasing)
It mentioned gradually adding new features so hopefully no one would notice any changes.

Or maybe it was just a ruse to distract us from the disappearance of the classic site.

You decide.

Since I first joined last year until last month or so it was perfectly OK to mention a site that rhymes with Pack Beige because it was strictly an ad site and NOT a review site. Perfectly logical I guess!

Then no more. The site remains ads only but now is banned and censored.

There you have it, the "big change" (LOL

I didn't realize you couldn't mention Pack Beige anymore. I take it that would be because of all the bad press they've been getting the past 2 months.

TER has always had a small number of people who think they own the place. New posters who don't go along with the clique have to deal with their nonsense. Most get tired of it. Lets face it, TER is OK for reviews and not much else. Almost every new thread that gets started is hijacked by people with their own personal agenda against the OP. It gets to the point that it's the same shit different day. People leave and it's back to the same 5-10 posters. Other boards usually welcome differences of opinion.  TER does not.

one where, in your opinion, there are train wrecks and agendas?  Seems odd to me.  In my book, anything is better than boring.  From what I can see, you like stirring things up yourself.  The trouble comes when people disagree with you.  You seem to dislike that.  Fine, then why not try ignoring them or simply not responding to everything with which you disagree?  Just a thought.

I did put one person on ignore. You misunderstood. Train wrecks and drama sells to an extent. There is nothing wrong with disagreements. On the other hand if threads are being constantly hijacked by people who have a personal vendetta, a group becomes boring and unreadable.

In other words attack the idea not the person. Otherwise every thread becomes a pissing match.

The "Ignore" button is something only the oversensitive resort to.  So I'm sorry to hear you used it even once. And when you talk about "vendettas" it reinforces the idea of oversensitivity.
Me, I'll still take a good pissing match over pablum and inactivity every time.  There is nothing anyone can say about me on this board that will truly upset me.  You might want to work on developing a thicker skin.  You'd probably be happier. :)

The ignore button is there to save you the trouble of having to manually ignore people. Personal vendettas are part of life and part of the internet. It's the oversensitive that can't handle it and get posts removed.

On TER, It's about the signal to noise ratio. If 80% of threads are noise, it becomes unreadable. People stop posting because it becomes a waste of time. I'm not sure what you mean about developing a thick skin.

What happens on the internet (unless you are stupid enough to get outed) has no affect on real life successes.

What trouble? Is it really that much work to NOT click in something??
I thought the ignore button is for 12 year old girls on Facebook.
