Not for everyone though. You have to create your own experience, not go there expecting that it has been created for you. The things you see, the people you meet, what you find in yourself is what makes it so special. You have to be willing to get out of your comfort zone; that's how it can be a great canvas for a life transforming experience.  The sense of community and generosity that one can experience there I don't think can be replicated anywhere else.  

Btw, the hobby does not belong there; too normative; that is exactly the type of stuff you leave behind when you go there.
