I played in San Diego's OMBAC Over The Line 3 on 3 softball tournament with two dentists.  The name of our team was My Root Your Canal.  For those of you unfamiliar with this annual event it's two consecutive weekends of partying, and the names of the teams are pretty unique.  It's hard to get signed up to participate, but if you ever get the chance it's well worth the experience. Root a Slappa!

Before central heat, homes were heated by open fires in fireplaces.  The ashes would accumulate in the firebox and it would have to be cleaned out from time to time to allow for better combustion.  Most chimneys had a hatch on the outside, so you could open the hatch, shovel or scrape out the ashes, and thus clean the fireplace and promote better fires.
