trainwrecks entertaining?

Do you find trainwrecks entertaining?  On a scale of 1 to 10 I find  good trainwrecks to be about a 8 or 9 in board entertainment value. Would you agree that these boards would be much less exciting without the wrecks?

Would you prefer the boards steer clear of such trainwrecks that take up two or three screen sizes just to scroll through and be more controlled and moderated for a more readable thread, before it explodes?

So long as I have the option to skip past them, then it's no skin off my nose if they want to meltdown in a public forum.

It feeds those who crave such drama and may prevent them from wandering off and dropping a deuce in another thread just to start some controversy.

When I've had a rough day it's helpful to compare how vanilla my life actually is compared to at least a few others.  In the process of venting perhaps they reach a better state as well.

But again, so long as I'm not forced to read it, then go ahead.

3 - 6 total replies holds little promise; but 20+ posts zig-zagging from left to right invariably offers some laughs.

Aren't you an atheist Jew,  though. So I'm curious,  where Jesus came from, during our last communication? Jesus's thoughts, if any?

Nick and Turdy used to specialize in those zigzags. Speaking of where is he, lately?

you'll see that "This site is purely for entertainment purposes. We imply nothing else." So, trainwrecks all fall right in the purpose of this site. You gotta love em.......

once or twice a week on the GD and RO boards.  And then most of us have mediocre (at best) local boards.  So, if it weren't for trainwrecks, research would be the only purpose of TER, and wouldn't that be sad...

For those of us that can't visit a provider three or four times a week, a good trainwreck often saves the hobbying day.  But I agree (partially) with Mr. Fisher -- two or three a week is plenty.  Some of them are exhausting.....

It's just impossible to keep track of all of the branches, creeks, and tributaries, etc. And after a point, the discourse just becomes boring and repetitive.

My favorite board used to be The Erotic Highway. Rarely a trainwreck (if ever), but that only ensured that all of the (mostly thoughtful) posts were given their due chance to inspire meaningful discourse, rather than inspiring (or being buried under) a pile of sh**. It's the first board I ever read regularly on TER.

come in and shut it down...

When I was about two yrs old, as my dear mom tells me, I used to be quite the brat. I used to get into fights with kids of my age and would end up beating one or two up.  If I would pick the wrong kid to get into fight with, I would get beaten up. too. No biggie... It would typically require some adult intervention stop that god damn madness before one of us would kill the other one or seriously injure.

Its one thing stopping kids from fighting.. I would stop mine too (well....if mine is winning, I might not right away, but eventually I will..LOL) but its such a lame ass idea to stop adults from arguing on a fuck board, and shutting down their speech...Its a god damn fuck board.. We, the John's fuck Hookers over here.. And some of us like to fight..

At least can we have ONE day in a week where no thread gets SHUT DOWN, unless there is reference of a MINOR in the thread or it doesn't reveal anyone's personal information.

scale 1-10? Revise it to 0-10 and I'll vote a zero. Train wrecks seem to be vehicle for the "in" group of combatants to humiliate their online opponents.

That all sides have enough representation of skilled online "debaters".

Otherwise it can easily (and often does) become a slaughter.  And equates to watching the Bears get mangled by the Dolphins.  Simply boring  LOL

I find many trainwrecks very entertaining. If there were no trainwrecks, and everyone on the GD were holding hands singing kumbaya, I wouldn't be here. On the other hand when there are too many trainwrecks in a row, it gets old and boring too.

Skilled online debaters,  Hmm does that  make them Masterbaters?
