A film has to be out for at least three weeks to make the list to ensure that it has good word-of-mouth, and not just a splashy opening.
A film has to be showing on at least 50 screens to make the main list, so that it is reasonably accessible to nearly all TER readers.
The Turkey is the film with less than $1K/screen which is showing on the most screens.

Haha,I agree with the Ring 2 part,it really sucked. Then again I didn't care for the first one either,as I hate it when hollywood ruins things by dumbing foreign flicks down for american audiences. The japanese versions are far better,more scary and have a huge following,so why mess with a good thing in my opinion. Kung Fu Hustle was great,I highly recommend it,then again as I've already said I have a thing for asian cinema,haha. Saw Amyitville Horror and wasn't that impressed,then again after reading the book and seeing the original there wasn't much left to the imagination. The only thing I'm really jonsing for is the Hitch Hickers Guide To The Galaxy,I hope it lives up to my expectations,as I loved that book.
