Hobbyists - have you ever told anyone about your special hobby? Your friends/families/coworkers? If you had, have you run into anyone "disapprove" of your hobby?

I will throw out some bait about LE stings and see the reaction. The hobbyists will spill the beans. Sometimes I have found out we have seen the same providers.

My personal assistant knows, my house keeper knows, several friends knows, some of my employees knows. Now I didn't tell most of them but I never hid it. And hell, the first time I did this my wife was in the room.

And as for reactions, well some wrote me off. Several of those family had gathered to show me the errors of my ways and save my wife's and mine soul. Some asked questions out of curiosity. Most didn't care.

Just about everyone who knows me knows what a whore mongering pig I am. The only exception to this is are the wives of some of my married friends, and I keep it from them for my friends benefits not my own. Some of my married friends would be forbidden from hanging out with me if their wives were to learn the truth.

As for myself, I am not the least bit ashamed of having a healthy sex drive, or of preferring MUCH younger women, OR for paying to get what I want. Nobody is getting hurt because of me seeing hookers, so there is NOTHING for me to be ashamed of.

and yes, occasionally someone tries to get judgmental on me, but not often. Most guys are at least secretly, (or not so secretly) jealous about all the tail I get, even if I am paying for much of it.

The only ones I ever told about my hobby are three friends I have met in connection with the hobby,  I have lost track of two of them but still have one friend here and --of course-- we both know about each other.

There is a social stigma associated with being an escort or patronizing escorts.  In my book, that social stigma is bullshit, but at the same time it's a reality and I personally prefer not to wear it on my sleeve.  To each his or her own on that score.  Exceptions and potential exceptions: a couple of very close friends and fellow clients/providers who know that discretion is the better part of valor.

Personally, I'm not a big on the "hobby" euphemism.  Although now when any person or form asks for my hobbies, it does give me a good chuckle.

I was sitting at the bar in my hotels lounge in Toronto. I over heard the stranger next to me using some hobby language.
When an opportune time presented itself I said something to him like " pardon me , but if I said TER would it mean anything to you ?" He slowly smile , kinda checked me out and said " yes it does ."

Actually it ended up that we were familiar with each other's handle on a different board that was more prevalent in Canada at the time. We had even exchanged comments on the board. He knew every lady I had already seen during my stay and recommended a few for future fun.

But to the OPs question. No. Never. And never will.

One of my brothers definitely knows (because I told him directly).  The other probably knows, or at least suspects.  And my best friend is probably going to learn soon.  I'm not ashamed of it...but it definitely isn't something you just casually mention at a Sunday BBQ or while sharing lunch at the local Panera Bread

I came close a couple of times... but fortunately I came to my senses.  Once out, you can never put the genie back in the bottle.  It gives someone else great power & leverage over you.  Why would I do that?

To separate your 'friends' from 'true friends', who will not only help you bury the body, but suggest a couple of good spots they know.

And we don't call it "Hobbying", we call it what it is, we're "Fucking around". So yes, my own little inner circle of friends, we all know what goes on. Oh and I have two clients that know what I do as I  know what they do because I fix them up.

Told my best friend, who is a female, while in the midst of hobbying.  Stopped about a year ago when I got a GF and I've told her about my hobbying past.

My brother knows about my early years, hell, I paid for him to have a girl take his virginity when he was 19.  I was in the other room with my own.

A few friends have heard early stories of my trolling the peep shows in Times Square and losing my own cherry to a gal I met there in p4p back in the 80's.

Hell, I even told my wife a few stories for full disclosure before we got married.  But absolutely NO ONE other than the providers I have seen or the posters on TER or Twitter know that I have seen anyone in the past 18 years

2 people know specific details--one of my friends who uses BP (and tries to get me to go the BP route) and another guy whom I've known for a while and actually has a crush on my ATF (but will probably never see an escort since it'll be nearly impossible for him to get screened since he works for TSA)

Handful of friends (about 6) know general details.
