Talk about a life lived to it's fullest..."Grandpa Munster" dead at 95.

Wow...I had no idea Al Lewis was involved in some of these things.  I didn't even like the show, but I sure respect his gusto for life.

Howard had to rein 'Grandpa' in more than once for his wanton candor. Aside from his provocative nature his philanthropic side was always evident.

 Bless ya' Grandpa Al

I met him when in his restaraunt in Greenwich about 15 years ago.I still have the picture he autographed for me.
What a real character and a fine gentleman.
He will be sorely missed.

Just my opinion...

The Munsters is one of my favorite '60's sitcoms. Herman passed away a few years ago, now Grandpa. So sad when the undead die.

In the early 60s, before The Munsters, he played Officer Schnauser on "Car 54 Where are You?" I always liked him in that, but this got overshadowed by his Grandpa role in people's recollection.

And in that program, he also teamed with Fred Gwynne, who later played Herman Munster.

Boo-Who!

May he RIP and raise up on reruns.

I met him at Nudes a popin a few years back. He was so much fun and very sweet. I was spending time with another judge so I got to hang with Mr.Lewis for 2 days and he really loved life, beautiful woman and his wife. God bless him

Does anyone know what ever happened to Eddie "Butch" Patrick?
I heard he made an appearance on SNL, but then wasn't seen again.

Butch Patrick was leading a fairly non-descript life and making occasional appearances at those "Where are they now" autograph signing conventions.

His "gusto" was somewhat manufactured since he was a lot younger than he claimed.  I also used to see him stand in the doorway of his restaurant right before it closed and stoicly eye passerby.  I always felt that whole jolly happy shtick was a bit of a put on for him.
