I am watching "Serpico" (1973) on television. I got to thinking how much fun it would have been to be thirty something in the early seventies/late sixties. The fashion was crazy, the music was fantastic, drugs mellow, and the sex free and wild. Not to mention the cars, and the cheaper rent.
Quotes from Serpico:
Frank Serpico: The reality is that we do not wash our own laundry -- it just gets dirtier.
Frank Serpico: I'm a marked man in this department. For what?
District Attorney Tauber: I've already arranged a transfer for ya'.
Frank Serpico: To where? China?
Tom Keough: Now I ain't sayin' who. They just said ya'... ya' couldn't be trusted, you know?
Frank Serpico: 'Cause I don't take money, right?
Tom Keough: Frank, let's face it. Who can trust a cop who don't take money?
Given a detective's gold badge.
Frank Serpico: What's this for? For bein' an honest cop? Hmm? Or for being stupid enough to get shot in the face?
Gun shop owner: That gun takes a 14 shot clip. You expecting an army?
Frank Serpico: No. Just a division.

sensibilities.
I was a college student in the time period you mention, and it was indeed a most excellent time to be that age.
Condoms were "Papa Stoppers", Bell bottoms were for men also,The music was the best ever,The drugs were good and cheap and the cars had muscles !! But if it's any consolation, did you see Al in "Heat" ? Another good movie but he looked like warmed over death. That happens to a lot of the people who were there to experience it.
and NM would never have existed. Is that what you want?
Right now it is so beautiful in NYC. The city is easing us into
summer - when it will become unbearably hot - but that's later.

Never complain that something is out of your control!
The fashion was crazy, so dress up for your dates.
The music was fantastic, play the oldies.
The drugs mellow, probably still are.
The sex free(many are willing- I certainly will help!) and wild(You probably take care of that now).
Not to mention the cars, and the cheaper rent, so I won't.
But did they have Naked Lunch and The garden of Eden?
...that word, obfuscate! Great word, but just doesn't seem to flow smoothly, naturally in spoken language. Tends to confuse the tongue muscles Perhaps you have a remedy for "confused" tongue muscles. Is the "doctor" in?
Why is it that I feel as if I am in for some humorous "skewering" when I reply to one of your oneliners?
"The Good Ol' Days" right? No, sorry, I was there.
Yes, the availability of birth control (beyond condoms) and the concept of women's lib, did lead to many women saying, "Hey, I want some action!"
But, many "hangovers" from the 50's attitude. Far more sex happening today.
And, if you wanted to be a provider, or were a hobbyist looking for a provider, IT WAS TOUGH!!. No advertising media, no network, no web - nothing but the street, or hanging in bars - and neither were good choices.
This is the best time since the days of Rome!
It was 90 in downtown San Diego today, probably mid 90's in Sedona's neck of the woods. Downtown LA was probably in the mid to upper 90's as well.
I heard someone saying how hot it ws here today, with our 16% humidity, and I mentioned that we might be a bit spoiled here, and they admitted as much, and said that unless it is 70-78 degrees here, it is either TOO COLD or TOO HOT for most residents. Too fuuny.

Come to the deep end of the pool. The water is so nice and warm.
Great word, but not in that sentence. Look it up. Or use shorter ones.
Sedona, There are many parts that sizzle when you touch them on NM!
... Plus, the sex is better.
A previously quiet setting on the beach, A few cold beers in a cooler , the hot sand between her toes and the sun reflecting off her nipple jewelry!! AHHHH what a "pair a dice"
...using my alias as a segue to a "C" word.
That "C" word would be Confuse.

Definition #2. Perhaps more "obscure" in usage but it made the list.
