New Years Resolution Anyone?

I came across this story recently on Yahoo News:

ROME - A Roman Catholic charity in Italy has set up a helpline for a neglected group of sufferers -- the clients of prostitutes. The aptly-named Don Giovanni Sandona, head of the charity Caritas, cited the torment endured by thousands of people who pay for sex and said: "It's no longer possible to face up to the problem of prostitution without analysing and helping the clients of prostitutes."

I would call this helpline myself, but I don't speak Italian.

Merry Christmas Everyone

I agree both with the mentioned charity and their cause and that I too wish I could speak Italian or maybe Latin. I got deeply addicted to this hobby long before I realized it. I won't get into a long sad essay on what it has wrought but suffice to say my life is quite different from what it was a year ago.
As for a New Years Resolution?  I don't wish to quit the hobby. However; Finding some ballance and/or maybe a winning lotto ticket would be a good thing.

"sufferers..torment endured by thousands of people who pay for sex...problem of prostitution..helping the clients.."

"I would call this helpline myself, but I don't speak Italian"

These are the words that leaped out at me, and so pardon my ignorance, but what suffering? what torment? what problem? what need for help?

You say you would call the helpline yourself..why? (we have zillions of helplines here, too, btw) Are you referring to (a real) sexual addiction? There is help here..

I just don't understand what the articles means by all that I quoted above..

"sufferers... torment endured by thousands of people"

Well over 95% of all hobbyists live outside of driving range to San Diego.  That, my dear, is the very definition of torment.

The one thing about resolutions, or goals for that matter, is that you don't want to set anything you know you won't keep/or attain because that just adds to failure, or the feeling thereof.

So, mine is just plain and simple: 'do better'.
No matter what it is, do better.
After all, I try to eat healthy, and get in some exercise, but I certainly could do better.

And so, no matter the topic - being an escort, dog owner, business owner, daughter, sister, neighbor, friend, lover..I just want to strive to do it better.

Remembering that it's the DIRECTION, not the PERFECTION..

HAPPY NEW YEAR!!

"And so, no matter the topic - being an escort, dog owner, business owner, daughter, sister, neighbor, friend, lover..I just want to strive to do it better."

All these are external roles...  Don't forget "caretaker of my own body" and "director of my own spirituality" as those are areas where I strive to do better too.
