I am a provider, who has a web page and a domain name.
I have noticed that I have had a few e-mails recently that has
had my real name come up on them! The e-mails in question, were pulled from mail to web, not sure if this would make a difference or not.
I have been on the net for many years and this is the 1st. time that this has happened. My name is hidden on my e-mail address, so I'm not sure what is going on.
This is very scary for me, as I have a unusual last name and I'm freaking out!
Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated!

Perhaps safe-mail.net might be of some value to you.
If your name is hidden in the html of your page, than all someone has to do is to download the page, and read the html with a reader. It is alas, quite simple. Best answer, is to make sure your real name is not anywhere in the html, weather displayed or not.
If you have a domain name *registered* in your name, anyone can find it out by doing a simple search, and if you have used your home address, I believe they can find this as well. (Your hosting information is kept confidential). If this is the case, I strongly recommend that you switch to a service who will register your domain name privately: a company who registers your site under the company's name, instead of your own.

When you registered your domain name did you use your real name?
if so that may be how they got your real name cause there are ways, which are legal, to find out who a domain is registered too.
Not sure if this is your problem or not, but I know a number of ladies that bought their domain names and registered them under their real names. It is fairly easy to do a 'who is' search on a domain name and see who it is registered to. Check to see how the ownership of your domain name is held, this could be the problem.
Be careful when you register a domain. It is quite easy to find out the registered owner of any domain. You should definitely use an alias when registering a domain.

I also don't know what you mean by "my real name come up on them". Can you be more specific?

I changed my domain to an alias, ladies be careful when registering a domain. Never use your real name, I sure learned my lesson on this one!
I thought TER was the only place I could use an alias! LOL
omain registrationYes, very easy to determine who the domain owner is, if the information is truthful. The registrars are craking down on obviously false information somewhat. That's why I always register the ladies domain with my information, eliminating the possibility of anyone obtaining your information. Contact me if you help with this.
