Does anyone have inside information on the upcoming movies the "The Exorcist, in the begining" and the "Manchurian Candidate"?  Is either worth seeing?  Have you read any reviews on them?

Did not like Manchurian at all - better watch Alein vs. Predator.  If you want to rent a movie, I just watched "Samurai Fiction" - awesome .. the best Samurai picture of all times with a flavor of Zen.

Exoricst is the weekend movie to watch - a prequel to the first Exorcist movie.

Get the original "Manchurian Candidate" with Frank Sinatra.  It is far superior to the remake.

"The Manchurian Candidate" a 81% rating. See link. (You can go from there to individual reviews.)

I didn't care much for Manchurian. The critic for my local paper wrote that the upcoming Exorcist movie wasn't going to be screened for critics. That's usually a bad sign for a film.

Have to disagree on Alien v Predator. It wasn't screened for critics and it had a PG-13 rating. It's rare that one movie can kill two franchises.

Manchurian Candidate was certainly worth seeing, though I haven't seen the original to compare them. Go for it!

If you're not an Alien or Predator fan, you'd be completely lost. If you're a fan of the franchse, you'll get the whole story right on the dot.

But, I still would like to see the remake. I hear that Denzel Washington hasn't had the opportunity to see the original movie. As for Aliens Vs. Predator. If it's anything like that crappy movie, Jason Vs. Freddy, then forget about it. I would rather wait until video.

I have Alien, Aliens and the 20th Anniversary editions and Predator on DVD. Alien 3 is passable, Alien: Ressurection is flat out terrible. Predator 2 is a stinker too.

I'm a bigger Alien/Predator fan than you think.

"Manchurian Candidate" is a mediocre remake of a great movie. It depends on the curiosity from the people who know the original to make it profitable.  Also, the updates they've given the plot are ideas that would have never sold for a script without the original title to sell it under.

At the very least, it's too soon for a remake of that movie.

I think "The Exorcist" is probably the most overrated movie/novel of the 20th century. I'm an old horror fan, but I really hate that movie. I also hold it responsible for bringing fundamentalism in the US back from the fringes.

So you know how I feel about a prequel to that beast.  Best that could be said is, unlike the original, it will probably be harmless.

I loved Manchurian Candidate. I did see the original and they are vastly different movies, but the remake is solid. If Meryl Streep doesn't win an Oscar for her role in this film, I would be shocked. She was brilliant. xxx Octavia.
