Or something that's could be better about the community or way things are done in general in the hobby. Could be from an attitude standpoint, a physical one, or hell even a moral one (although I know that being open minded is a golden standard here).

Genuinely curious to hear what could be improved from your perspective.

...They are the ones who should be thinking about how to "do better" in order to get more business.  The hobbyist has to show up on time, clean, with the right number of Benjamins and not be a total asshat.

Maybe you should have read the Self-Help Center before posting your drivel...

I agree with BP about your drivel. In what other business do customers ask how to be better customers? Do you see restaurants posting on internet sites how not to "overstay your welcome"  how to be a "better tipper" or how not to "come in at closing time and order a full meal and dessert"??? I bet you would be downright offended if your local restaurant where to do so, wouldn't you? So why all the angst on how to be a "better trick"?

People ask all the time "what is a mangina?" I think in the future I will simply link them to your OP.

Using recent and accurate photos would be a very good start.  Using photos from 10 years or 15 pounds ago isn't what I would consider honest business practice.  It's flat out "bait and switch".

I don't feel like paying hundreds for fat old broads who rely on bait and switch tactics to get their business. What's worse is that some whores seem to think that using old thinner photoshopped pictures are acceptable business practices simply because they have enough stupid chumps who are willing to pay for their chubby old tang

... that if a topic has been discussed in TER Land within the past 7 years, it can't be discussed again?  Is that an official Statute of Limitations, or just a rule of thumb?

I thought it was a valid question... just as it was 7 years ago.  Perhaps some providers have different thoughts on the topic now than were covered in the thread 7 years ago.  I'd like to see what they have to say on the subject.

If you want to start a thread re what providers should be thinking about to "do better" in order to get more business... feel free!  Although there's probably been a thread in the past 7 years that's covered that topic.  :)

I think I am on safe ground here when I say that by "drivel" he meant the very concept of us discussing how to be  "better johns" is nonsensical and ridiculous on it's very face, and certainly meets my definition of "drivel" as well.

and I will repeat what I said in my response below, "in what other business do customers discuss how to be better customers?" This is a fucking business, not Match.com sheesh

...section of TER's Instruction manual, AKA the Self-Help Center.  I didn't just dig up a seven year old post - it is TER's own reference for how hobbyists can "do better."

It appears you're not a very good Boy Scout.  You should try to "be prepared" by reading the Self-Help Center yourself.  If you familiarize yourself with all the chapters and pass a test, you could earn yourself a merit badge.

More specifically, respect her time and business... for example, not booking one hour and trying to keep her for 3.

It's so rare a courtesy for a man to be mindful of my time...those men often get a 'No, it's fine, please stay longer if you wish.' They also earn my heartfelt gratitude

Op here. Not to start a flame war, but some of the responses here are more than a little dickish. What the hell guys? If you didn't like the topic then just move on. No need to result to personal attacks.

If this were a forum about hotels and I asked the question "Hotel owners, what do guests do that gets on your nerves?" would it still be a dumb question because the customer should not be concerned with his conduct?

Just my opinion here, but in any service industry you get better service by being a better more informed customer.

I will concede that my title was poorly phrased, but I'm starting to notice a really unfriendly presence on these forums and it's unfortunate.

You forget that the OP didn't ask for "us" (hobbyists) to discuss his question.  He specifically asked for input from providers.

What I'd like to know is, what's the problem with providers giving their input on that question... if they have any?  If not, it will be a short thread!

If it's not a thread you're interested in, why not just pass it by?

Why is this "drivel" compared to recent threads that you didn't consider drivel, such as:

* Yet another dick-size thread
* The Polyamorous Tribe thread
* The "Posting Drunk" thread
* The "I Saw a Provider I Want To Take Home" thread
* The "Was GD Like Ponies?" thread
* The "Does Discretion Matter to You?" thread
* etc.

Some might consider those "drivel".  But for those who think so, it's easy to pass them by.

Apparently, the idiots can't read the original post headline... especially when it starts with the word 'Provider'.

I can say with relative certainty, that a hobbyist should never, ever, no matter what the circumstances, no matter how comfortable he feels with the provider, even on a dare, never goose the provider.

Got it, because clearly fucking a provider is just like staying at a luxury hotel or eating at a fine restaurant (but shit if it is, let me know where you stay/dine!). Loosely I suppose they all can be considered "hospitality" and money is being exchanged, but that's where the comparison ends. I look at it more like finding the right therapist or even the right trainer. It requires a certain amount of effort from both parties to make it worthwhile even though only one person is paying.

I thought the OP's questions were mostly harmless even if the answers seemed self-evident, but props to you for dropping the mangina bomb. That's very original and doesn't get old at all.

"... The hobbyist has to show up on time, clean, with the right number of Benjamins and not be a total asshat...."

For some even this is a stretch. So some can be cleaner, some can be less of an asshat and some need to check the fee.

In order for a hooker to provide good service, the john(since things are so personal), even though he is paying, needs to step up or not whine when he has not bathed and gets refused some services. My services are commensurate with HIS attitude and level of cleanliness.

Even doctors who do get that up close and personal are wearing gloves, at times a mask and more. Yet we are asked to insert bare fingers in a asshole,even lick that same asshole.

I don't see the commonality in the rendering of services with ANY other business that is this personal where one party is not gowning and gloving.

Sure tricks can be cleaner, can be less rough out of the gate, can ask before shoving a finger in an unsuspecting asshole. That's about it for me.

and say to himself, "wow, that's ME he is talking about, i need to change my behavior" NO ONE is going to think this applies to them, especially the asshats that it really applies to. So what we get is just another in a long line of suckup posts made by yet another mangina trying to make himself feel superior to the other johns here.

Not to mention the OP was his very first post on this board, when I want to get lectured by a newbie I'll be sure to send him a PM, if he even has VIP for that matter, in the meantime he can just STFU for all I care.

Yes, I know this is directed to the providers, yet there is a universal here as many people like to feel good about themselves in the decisions they make that lead to a positive outcome; so, there are pros and cons:

The worst kind of prospects are abrasive and disrespectful to others; run from these people as they are not worth the time, effort and even money to anyone in a any business as nothing will please them. (Fortunately, this is not the norm, although there are many gray areas.)

With that said, I agree with some of these posts, at least on the premise that it is first up to the business professional to set a truthful standard by living up to what they advertise in pictures, service and rate.

With that said (hygiene is also necessary and a good attitude helps), hopefully, a great outcome just may transcend business and feel genuine.

I feel this way because I work with the public myself (sales) and there are some prospects that have become customers. I have taken a genuine interest in them beyond the business transaction. (Even if I never see them again, I have fond memories).

So, the door swings both ways, and it doesn't get any better than win/win

I do see your point.

When I mentioned cleaner in another post I also said that my service are commensurate with the cleanliness of the john. Those that keep getting refused "what the other guy got" might clue in and realize some changes need to be made...or not.

A grown man who has to be told to wash his junk if he wants it sucked is too stupid to be out in public without a leash. Subtlety will NEVER work on such a person, unless your version of subtle involves a Louisville Slugger. lol

These guys too stupid to wash their own ass are probably also the same guys that resent being called "johns"
