This is crazy!! I'm on tour right now on the east coast. As much as I hate having to deal with advertising on BP it was probably the only site that brings in daily appts. This is going to bring a whole lot of stress on ladies like me who had to rely on BP for daily biz. It's a dumb move on the governments part in my opinion.

Destroyed freedom of speech for one, and although my income has greatly been affected lately due to some police stings in my area, Bp was vital to them in finding REAL sex trafficking issues such as underage children, raps, pimping etc.
they keep going out trying to shut down prostitution but they're going after the wrong people and just teaching the right people on how to be better at getting away with hurting people.
Not to mention, like a previous lady said, for us workers (or maybe just me) it was a reliable way to gaurenree myself an appointment when everywhere else was slow.
but where there's a void, there's someone waiting to fill it.. hopefully that's soon.

Eventually LE will wise up, but for now, you can still find plenty of provider ads in Backpage dating ads. For some reason, there have always been a lot of provider ads there even when there wasn't any censorship at the site.

A couple of thoughts.  If you actually clicked on the "Censored" link on BP I was surprised to find the letters of support from the Children of The Night organization talking about the amount of support, financial and information, that they receive from BP.  CN see's it as a huge loss of a tremendous resource in combating the trafficking of children and an easy way for them to get their message out to those in need.  I had seen their ads on BP before, but never did the research to understand that the two companies were working in tandem.  Eye Opening for me and new found respect for the owners in working to combat a horrible issue.

It was also surprising the level of support from LE regarding the same issue.  It afforded them an opportunity and location to combat the issue.  Again not fully aware of the mutual respect of the two organizations combating that specific issue as they should.

The slope and I'm not a lawyer.  How much of a reach is it for the same committee to go after other ad malls?  Just thinking out loud.

Yes. The Teaxas Attorney General charged the Backpage CEO with promoting prostitution and yesterday he ran out of appeals.

What could happen is a sale of the company to an overseas company. But that won't happen overnight.

All this wasted time on the hobby when the dumb asses should worry about real crime! I go on other boards here and read about LE slamming agencies and the whatnot. If no one gets robbed, attacked, pimped, or any kid crap.... Seriously go after the REAL crime.

While LE is fucking with us, the real evil people are getting away with shit. Sorry but I am real pissed at the moment. BP can be a huge headache but some states rely on that and if one knows how to screen, it can be beneficial.

I do NOT view the hobby as a crime. Fuck that.

In some countries this is completely legal and no one should be able to take away an advertising venue for those in places where they have a different view. Although I understand the USA doesn't have the right to censor all the other countries that backpage deals with and in, when that Cook's County Sheriff 'politely' asked the credit card companies to stop processing payments made to backpage, escorts all over the world were affected.

Why don't they move the whole business to another country where the politicians don't stick their nose where it don't belong and where advocate groups don't get to rule the world. And forget about the States. With all the 'Christians' there and 'in god we trust' on the money, maybe it's time to stop viewing them as the free and open society we all once thought they were and move on. There are many more free and open societies that will 'live and let live' and stop putting a certain 'industry' in peril every time one self-motivated individual decides to  mark it for destruction.

But, that's just it.  Gentlemen tend to have their own list of ladies that use BP to market themselves and, of course, there is the network of gentlemen and ladies who are willing to make referrals.  Neither of these are as efficient for the market as BP, but they work for buyer and seller to find one another.

The loss of marketing efficiency, though, is likely to drive prices down, I think.

I can guarantee, for the ladies relying on BP to pay the rent, prices are slashed this morning.

If you say it that way then it would only make sense that rates go up! Way up to maximize the income from each client she gets...if she can't find them why would she go for rock bottom rates. There won't be any volume so that doesn't make any sense. She's not a brick and mortar warehouse were prices will be dropped when a highway is coming through and she needs to move from that location.

If she has a client then she will have to charge more to make up for all the ones she is not getting. Nice try though ;)
Have a great day! :))

Hypothetically speaking if online advertising was completely done away with, most of us would drop out of this and find other ways to make money.  The ease of advertising on backpage draws more women to providing.  The more supply there is the less services will cost.  So while new girls and ones that don't retain and regulars may have to go on CL casual encounters and decrease prices because they don't know of anything to fall back on, the demand for those of us who have retained many regulars over the years and have good online history will probably notice an uptick in calls.  I could be wrong but with anything that's harder to find prices generally go up on what you can find.  All of this is kind of a moot point though because the dating section of BP is working and even if it wasn't there would be another website to take its place much like what happened after Craigslist.

I believe what you say for established higher rate escorts.

But overall, the whole reason for doing this is to make more than minimum wage. Make a living. If guys are salivating at the prospect of lower rates for their pussy, then they haven't taken into consideration that it doesn't make any sense to do this at all if the rates are not livable. (It has to be worth the safety and health risks and be able to cover your shelter, food, clothing etc) If it doesn't do that no girl would bother I'm sure, except in between minimum wage jobs I'm sure)

But that's just me. I always have to remind that there are others out there who have different circumstances and i believe we have to remember they are part of the equation.

Yes definitely....We are more thinking about ourselves and other ladies we know...but like I pointed out those who aren't doing so well already (ie drug abuse, being pimped, ect) may lower their already very low rates because of desperation.  This would impact them in the worst way possible and probably give us a boost at the same time as bad as it sounds.  For clear headed individuals though it wouldn't be worth it to lower rates because as you said with all the risks and costs that come with this job it would make more sense to just quit if you couldn't make up for the hardships.

I have to agree with breannabreeze.  I'm in it for the sex.  There are several ladies whom I have seen time and time again.  If there were only one woman, that would be okay IF she were on call 24 hours a day to sync with my free time (not likely).  With multiple ladies, someone is USUALLY free when I am.  And with regular customer/provider relationships, we (both client and provider) can get comfortable with each other, and not have to worry about some of the dangers/awkward moments in meeting new clients/providers (LE stings, crazy, drugged-out people, sketchy incalls, pimps, boyfriends, etc, etc.).

Ladies who didn't primarily rely on BP will see a drop in competition as the former BP ladies try to find an new advertising outlet.   These non-BP ladies will be able to increase prices.

Former BP ladies will have to re-establish themselves and try to find their way back to wider visibility.  These ladies will likely have to decrease prices because their customer base has shrunk and will have to fight it out among themselves in the smaller ponds they've escaped to.

This bifrucation may re-merge if everyone begins migrating to a few common platforms.  Time will tell.
