The NY Times reports a Federal indictment of KMPs in New York, saying that these 'spas' are actually brothels, and that they share information like customer lists between them.  Shocking.  I set up an appointment yesterday morning, and the spa sent me a text an hour later to cancel (which I appreciated) now I know why.  The paper reports that 11 people have been indicted, and that these spas have 'laundered' about $1.4M over the last year.  Seems low to me, but what do I know.  Any thoughts about what this means other than taking a hobbying break?

The article says computers with info on customers were also seized.  The info included phone #s.  Just one more reason to use a burner phone and not to give out other personal info.

The AMP scene was a hotbed for fun for years until a customer stabbed and killed one of the girls.  Soon thereafter the Feds and DC police came in and shut all the spa's down.  Money laundering charges were filled against many of the owners of spa's, but never heard what happened after.  The business is still big around town and they are spread out all over the inner suburbs in private homes and apartments.

The fact that a phone # is in their system is no proof they paid for sex.  The most LE could do is use the # to threaten its owner in the hope he'd freak out and say something dumb.  But the likelihood of their doing it is virtually zero.  Do you really think the cops are going to call 70,000 numbers?

Seized documents become public records.  Other than that, client names will imply no legal jeopardy.

Just the other day, I posted a story about a late night visit to a NYC KMP. A big limo with a uniformed chauffeur (cap and everything) was parked on the street, a few spaces down. Due to an internal traffic issue, the presumed owner of the limo, an old white haired gent, wrapped only in a towel, passed by another patron on their ways to and from the showers
