I went back and re-read Octavia's message. It didn't appear to me that she is giving medical advice to anyone. She merely pointed out that the medication is available, it is FDA approved and some insurances cover it. She asked that if someone is interested to do their own research and THEN consult with their own physician. It may or not be right for everyone.
To keep it real and keep things safe a blood test (and urine test) is the best way to go and most if not all insurances cover that. BTW that's not medical advice...it's a PSA and suggestion. Thanks for reading and have a great day D.I have been meaning to post this thread ever since Charlie Sheen story came out but never came around to it. The story lets us know that the risk of exposure is real and does not discriminate between rich and poor. Thus, those at high risk for exposure such porn stars, providers who offer pse and hobbyists who do not enjoy sex with condom should take extra care. While recent blood tests are good to have they only go so far back and recent exposure may not show up on the test.
A lot of providers and hobbyists are not aware of this but there is a pill out there that is FDA approved for people who are at high risk for exposure. If taken daily this pill should be 90+% effective . You can google it and do more research to find out if it is right for you. It has been around for a few years now and is covered by insurance in Massachusetts. It is NO longer an experimental drug and the way it works is backed by science and medical research.
If you are at high risk , you need to get tested and make sure you are negative and then talk to your medical provider to find out if PreP is right for you.
While rubber is the best to protect yourself, extra protection never hurts.
I hope this post helps some out there. The more providers and hobbyists educated themselves and take additional steps to protect themselves, the less likely it is for the virus to spread in the community.
Ignorance seeds fear, knowledge is power.
And to answer the questions I might receive due to this post, i am all clean and negative. Have recent test to prove it and I am proud to be on PreP.
Thank you
Octavia

any medication has side effects and it may not be right for everybody, only MD can determine if it is safe to take for certain individuals...

We're already fucking up our liver- Dayquil, Tylenol, Benadryl, Aspirin, Clariton, the list goes on....
lol
I am a firm believer that people in this country are most definitely over medication and I refuse to use drugs for anything but recreational purposes. lol and even those days are decades in my past.
I will confess that I do drink like a fish, so I suppose my liver already looks like a science project.
With a care free attitude such as yours, why not just swallow a persons cum whom has aids?
You're fucking up your body any way... lol
Unless you are a physician, providing medical advice to anyone, particularly based on what you read on the Internet, is inappropriate.
I suppose that might depend on what you mean by "medical advice". I didn't find anything in the OP to be medical advice to an individual. More like information that could be used by anybody reading it.

are you dumb and unable to read? She specifically said that she's not giving medical advice.
i edited the post after his remark, just to make sure nobody literally takes it as medical advice )
And listening to it is foolish.
i am confused about what PSE means to the majority. Does it mean bbfs? if not, what it means to you? just fs + greek? facial ? (since most of scenes end with facial lol)
lets face it most of porn is without protection and it is a known fact that non-bb porn does not sell. A lot of porn production shifted to Florida since CA now requires condoms on the set by law as far as I know. A lot of porn stars also escort since it is lucrative and sometimes pays better than a scene. What are you expectations when you book a PSE with a regular provider or a porn-star?
again , i am not making assumptions and merely inquiring about the meaning of PSE to yo
Well attitude, plus greek that is.
If you consider GFE to be the P4P equivalent of "making love" PSE is the P4P equivalent of "hot monkey sex" GFE is a lot of kissing PSE is a lot of fucking. In GFE you hold his hand, in PSE you hold your ankles. It's all the attitude to me.
I would say very very few women who advertise PSE are offering BBFS, I won't say none, but the percentage is extremely low.
As for booking a porn star, I've never done it and it's not a bucket list item. Paying three to ten times the rate just to fuck a woman who's fucked on camera is just not that important to me
The providers just love to weasel it into in term of "attitude" which is a vague concept meaning everything, nothing and totally worthless.
That is as opposed to what long time savvy hobbyists believe in. Which means very precisely and unequivocally certain sex acts. Sex acts that are performed without barrier by girlfriend (GFE) or by porn actress (PSE).
sorry, but your post proves you are anything but.
There is no uniform definition of PSE or GFE. Many GFE providers provide every service but BBFS, including Greek, DFK, BBBJ, CIM, DATY, DATO and every other menu item you can think of. Most PSE providers offer the same. In so many cases there is ZERO menu difference between a PSE and a GFE provider.
Once upon a time PSE was code for Greek, those lines are now so blurry the only distinction still remaining, and barely so is the "raunchy" attitude of a PSE as opposed to the more "tender" attitude of a GFE.
So you, somehow you managed to stumble on the truth, the labels are a very "vague concept meaning everything, nothing and totally worthless" Good for you, now go sit in the corner.
Mental note: put Tic Tacs on the bathroom counter for the next date LOL
That reminds me, last week a provider recommended putting out feminine wipes for providers so I did... The first thing she said was, "it looks like a drugstore in there"
The second thing she said was, "How many girls did you see this week?"
and after counting the empty condom wrappers ask me "how many girls have you seen today?"
On my good days, sometimes I honestly couldn't remember. lo
I've never booked a porn star, but I have booked GFE providers who offered a touch of PSE. GFE is like having sex with your girlfriend. PSE is like having sex with your girl friend's slutty friend. Greek is common with PSE, but not always. PSE is like GFE on steroids with things like BBBJ, CIM, and NQNS, toys and dirty talk. My personal preference is for GFE, but the providers I've seen that are GFE with a bit of PSE have been fun.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter whether it's called GFE or PSE as long as you're getting the experience for which you came (double entendre intended).
You misunderstood. NQNS was sometimes a PSE menu item NOT GFE as you interpreted.
In my experience, GFE always includes BBBJ, usually includes CIM and frequently but not always NQNS.
At the end of the day, it doesn't matter whether it's called GFE or PSE as long as you're getting the experience for which you came (double entendre intended).
Just like the term GFE it is worthless and is nothing more than a marketing gimmick. This is because EVERYONE has a different idea of what GFE and PSE mean. There is no Industry Standard or Gold Standard established by any recognized or credible authority for these two terms.
That is why a certain now-defunct web site that WAS the established long-time credibility of the hobby had established a Gold Standard for GFE and it is called by a different term than GFE. Unfortunately that defunct site never got around to establish a similar standard for PSE.
For hobbyists who are savvy and/or jaded both the terms are just bait for upselling or fraudulent attempt at vagueness and misrepresentation
Greek sometimes but it's an attitude, high energy, forget lovey stuff know what you like and go for it-guy takes charge and the lady is usually able to go a lot longer than the dude. Most of your top 10 providers are super high energy athletes ( performers if you prefer )
Ive looked into Prep as many of my Gay and Trans friends have been advocating for it and I like to be up to date on such matters,
Prep is for peopel who are considered HIGH RISK.
This means you are having sexual contact with someone who has HIV.
Its not advised for just general public use.
its not even recommended for porn starst who are having bareback sex with each other because THEY ARE TESTED as NEGATIVE.
Even in Chsarlie Sheens case (which I have been following with quite some interest having known some of the people involved in this whole drama).. He profressed to have a LOAD of undetectable... This part of his story adds up as none of the women he slept with BB have come up positive (at least none of them are telling us if they have)
Thats not to say that you cant get HIV from somone with a low Viral load- because it IS possible.. its just highly improbable.
This is why PREP is for people who knowingly have HIV positive partners. The risk of contracting it is basically zero if you are playing safe.... WHICH YOU SHOULD BE
Good, thoughtful answer, but you forgot the medical disclaimer for the retards who need to be told: see your own fucking Dr if you have medical questions.
You're assuming that every client and every provider knows their actual HIV status. Because of the stigma that HIV presents, an overwhelmingly large population of people don't actually know their status. High-risk groups include those who have sex with multiple partners, and aren't aware of their partners' HIV status. That's basically every hooker and john out there because every hooker and john could potentially be lying (whether the lying is intentional or not isn't of consequence in this matter).
Sex workers and those who seek the services of sex workers are not the general public. We are a high-risk group. Porn stars don't qualify because they're required to test by law (and even that is flawed, as we saw a few years ago with the kink.com HIV issues). Lots of people actually advocate for PrEP use in porn as well.
High-risk sexual behavior, as defined by most medical institutions, including the CDC includes:
-Unprotected intercourse without male or female condom use, except in a long-term, single-partner (monogamous) relationship.
-Unprotected mouth-to-genital contact, except in a long-term monogamous relationship.
-Early sexual activity, especially before age 18.
-Having multiple sex partners.
-Having a high-risk partner (one who has multiple sex partners or other risk factors).
-Having anal sex or a partner who does, except in a long-term, single-partner (monogamous) relationship.
-Having sex with a partner who injects or has ever injected drugs.
-Exchange of sex (sex work) for drugs or money.
I don't ask my clients about their medical histories or their relationships or how many other providers they see. Because it's not my business. The fact of the matter is we as hookers and they as johns engage in high-risk sexual behavior simply by doing what we do. Most of us accept these risks and mitigate them how we see fit, and if someone wants to be on PrEP in order to make them feel safer, they should do their research and talk to a doctor
Thank you, Erin.
Flawless response. You said everything I wanted to say but I was too tired to type.
Respect
Octavi
As most people here has had multiple partners since our last clean test, most here have also had sex with someone with multiple parters. Since everyone or at least most everyone here is high risk it us wise to at least consider a product that can make it safer. I am not avocation the drug, nor do I take it, but it is good to look into it and make an informed choice. We are high risk if we partake in this hobby, that is a fact.
All I know is that every time this has come up in Trans/gay sex woker discussion the word has been that Prep is for people currnetly engaging with a positive partner.
There s probably a good chance that it wreaks other parts of yur body (liver etc) so right now docs are only giving it to people who are first generation knowingly at risk
Celebrities fk like rabbits. Sheen's rumored to have had over 5000 sexual partners, most of them I would bet in New York. New York's got a lot of people and one night stands are the craze there. Say each of these partners has had sex at least 5 times before Sheen got to em. That would mean 25000 people involved. HIV rate in NY is around 1.5% so around 75 people in his 5000 might have had the virus. I think if you had protected sex with an HIV positive person 75 times you would at least get the virus once...
Sheen's problem was he fked too much, if there is such a thing that is...
Even with HIV with todays medicine Charlie is fine. He'll live to see old age.
ignore button must be up to 2000 ab-users
So are you confident in having protected sex with 75 HIV patients? I can only use what I am given and that is Sheen's rumored number of partners and the NY HIV rate. Do you think Sheen makes his partners take a STI test before each fornication?
Seriously on this topic of Sheen's sex life who ISN'T clueless? Yea go on ignoring everyone you misunderstand, see where that takes you you pleb.
I can relate because while my number is approaching the number attributed to good old Charlie, I really don't have a fucking clue to what my actual number is and neither does he.
but if you knew the first thing about HIV and it's transmission rate/s you would know that even using the very same numbers you just pulled out of your ass, "protected" penile/vaginal sex with 75 HIV positive partners would be unlikely for a man to contract HIV. Not impossible of course, but statistically 75 exposure while engaging in "safe sex" would be highly unlikely for him to have contracted HIV this way.
The thing is, Charlie did not limit himself to P/V protected sex with all these thousands of women, if he did most likely we wouldn't be having this conversation, Charlie had a LOT of unprotected sex, sex with Transexuals, and most likely unprotected sex with transsexuals. I have no idea (nor do I care) if he was ever a "bottom" but if he were, and he was taking it up the ass BB from a person who was HIV positive, THEN his chances of contracting HIV would have gone up exponentially.
All sex is not created equal, there are loads of women on this board and probably a handful of men (myself included) who have had thousands of sexual partners without contracting HIV.
Check out OTM's post about the true odds of getting HIV, and quit just pulling shit out of your ass without having the least clue as to what you are talking about. If knowledge is power, your batteries are most certainly on life support.
AND USE A FUCKING CONDOM
which is never discarded in toilet so there!!!!!!
I test so often, I know my phlebotomist by name. LOL
while we are at it, lets talk about one more misconception that I have heard from number of clients
it seems like some guys assume that the more high end is the provider, the less customers she has and thus she is more likely to be "clean"
it is not about who or how many you do it with, it is about how you do it
opinions
There is also a shot out there the STI shot like you mentioned nothing wrong with being extra careful. Although I don't partake in BBFS and I only offer doubles with ONE other provider, I still took it. I would recommend like you mentioned above everyone do the samething being extra careful never hurts.
To die for sex doesn't seem right to me....
