The latter is so easy, said Mark Twain, that he was able to do it dozen of times.

But seriously, for those who have at one time vowed NEVER TO HOBBY AGAIN, I'm curious :

1. whatt= were the circumstances prompting you to make that promise? ;

2. how long did you keep to your promise? ;

3. what were the circumstances which caused you to return to the hobby? ;

4. any regrets, either for failing to stay away or for having stayed away temporarily and deprived yourself?

1. I vowed to give up hobbying because I had a string of very bad or lackluster encounters, all of which seemed in retrospect like expensive rip-offs.

2. I kept my promise for about nine or ten months.

3. Honestly, I returned to the hobby because I was bored and horny.

4. Yes, I regret returning to the hobby.  It's an addiction of sorts.  There are great times and shitty times, but the lows seem lower than the highs seem high.  This doesn't mean that I'm quitting anytime soon, but I'd like to.  I'd like to lose weight and exercise, too, but there's a fat chance of that happening.

1) Made the promise to myself to give it up for financial reasons
2) Two weeks
3) Weak-willed, OCD behavior
4) I regret it as I write this

I started hobbying for revenge's sake and it's developed into an unhealthy habit that aids/abets a shitty secret life.

I do both, and they're both probably gonna kill me!! LOL  Don't really give a rat's booty, though.  If I die by the hobby, I die happy!

It was the worst half hour of my life.

1. I gave it up for about six years after I got married, however I continued to occasionally go to an MP for a massage and release, I didn't look upon that as "real" hobbying, so you know I'm a rationalizer.

After six years and the second kid, I was pretty much cut off, so I went back with a vengeance for about seven years.

2&3. After I got caught, I promised to give it up cold turkey, but by that time I had several favorites and I missed them so badly I lasted only about two months.

4.  I regret having promised to give it up when I probably should have known I couldn't.  It cost me my marriage but now I have no regrets about it.

I just hope that I can continue to afford it.

1. Gave it up cold turkey - just lost interest in the fake interactions

2. 12 years

3. Emotional stress from a failing marriage

4. No regrets about staying away - sex is important but not everything and not necessarily the MOST important thing in my life; failing to stay away?  sometimes

I would say it is harder than giving up smoking.  Monogamy is not natural in my opinion and this is a safer outlet for people than affairs in most cases.  Of course, like anything else it can be overdone if you let it.

And remember guys as long as you have two sticks to rub together some girl somewhere will love you all you can afford...

The alternative is to get married - and you know what you get then - a woman you pay to deny you sex and nag you into the grave...
