I suppose you mean that you see a close family member that has no idea you are a hooker/john and you had no prior knowledge they were a hooker/john. I can't really imagine that happening to me as just about everyone in my life knows I am a whoremonger, so it's VERY unlikely that I am going to get surprised someday.

I would initiate conversation !   Who is hiding from who at this point ?  (Lot's of hypothetical's here but whatever...!!)  Anyone ever have this actually happen ?  Specifically a family member ?

I would tell her that her mother was worried about her, so I turned on her phone tracker so that I could find out what she was up to, and they wouldn't let me come in without a name tag.  

If is anyone else I know, I would say that this is a little embarrassing, but I had ta take this part time job in the evenings as hotel security.  For this event, they want me to mingle like one of the other guests rather than look like security because LE-types are a turn-off for these people.

My dad died decades ago, so I guess I would be surprised, but if he were still alive and I saw him at a meet and greet I would watch him at work being charming.  
He and my mother had nothing like a sex life, but he was active literally till the end.  He had strings of girl friends that were more in a sugar daddy arrangement I think.  Every contact with a female was a chance for him to go to work on his line of patter.
He was 78  years old and dying of cancer. He had faded away to a shadow of a person. I would take turns with my wife and my mother and a paid attendant staying with him so he was not alone. I walked in for my "shift" and he told me to get lost for a couple of hours.  I pressed him about the reason and he finally said:"I'm going to try for one last blow job before I die." I looked at this jaundiced shadow of a person and left.  
I got back in a couple of hours and asked him how it went. He smiled and said: You'll never know how good that was."
He died 36 hours later.  A great role model.

I, on the other hand, would be a bit shocked...and would pull her aside to ask her a few questions about her screening, which sites she's on, does she have a mentor, etc.

My Mother has passed, I am an only child (that is most likely of no surprise to anyone who has been in here for some time).

While we are on the subject of M&G's, I can't understand why some folks are still so reserved at a M&G. The guys and gals who are hobbyists must all be screened and the providers are, well providers. Let loose a little people, you are amongst friends or at the very least friendlies.

at a m&g 2 years ago, I saw a guy I knew from a Wine Tasting group ... nice enough guy. I grabbed a drink and in that time, he vanished.  

Like I didn't see him? Took him a while to even say hello in public.

Years ago at an M&G, there was another hobbyist there who I worked with at the same company, and we both laughed it off.  He was friends with my ATF, and me with his.  We could have destroyed each other professionally and personally, but there was no need to.   What would I do?  Probably the same thing...

Honestly, once the shock wore off, I think we'd laugh it off. I mean, what are they going to do out me? Because in doing so they'd out themselves. Although I bet most of my family would be so shocked, haha

To me it isn't that deep to go into shock. I am going to mingle, maybe say a word or two to them but I came to "meet and greet" and will talk about it later if they wish to talk about it.
