Lawyers and companions.  They both screw you but Lawyers do it for less.  Lately I've noticed the rates have jumped considerably for many traveling companions.  Curious as to why anybody with money or without money would pay 700.00, 800,00, 1000.00 plus for an hour rendezvous.

Not going to lie, if I was flithy rich and money was no object, there are plenty of ladies I would spend more on just because I want to see them. I often look at the ladies who are above my means and think about how I would not care if I hit the lotery. But as a dude who is not rich and works on a budget, I'm aiming for the sweet spot and focusing on the ladies that are not too cheap where pickens are so slim and qualitry is less but also not overpaying for the ladies that might be on an equal plane with those at the rate I can more afford.

You do you.
Which, by the way you didn't clarify. $50 BNG from a street walker? $150 he at an AMP?

I see gorgeous, fun providers almost every week. Total spend less than 0.2% of my net worth. Maybe you should have chosen another career path.

I personally would never spend 1 grand for a 1 hour arrangement, but I wouldn’t fault those with the means and desire to do so.

I’ll gladly spend 1 grand on a multi-hour/or overnight rendezvous with the right provider.

I won’t spend $1k per hour for one provider because I know many great providers at a much lower rate, but I’m going to spend a bit more than that soon for a session with my two most-favorite providers. It’s been awhile since I did that; life is short, and you never know what’s going to happen—who will retire when, etc.

Ok, you didnt hate too much. lol. But isnt this just life in general? Why do people pay for million dollar houses? For 100k cars? 1000 bucks for a bottle of booze?
And it's not like there aren't girls at lower price points but I am not sure where you play. Multiple agencies, and some independents, in the Philly and NJ areas have awesome women for $350-400/hr. I see those girls too but spend more at other times.
I agree the inflation is problematic but also remember the ladies prices have skyrocketed. From clothes, to hotels, to gas prices, to make up, to advertising, photo shoots, etc they have had to bare a bigger cost too.

It's not nearly as pleasant when a lawyer screws you as when a hot hooker does, so many are happy with paying a premium. ;-)

Or just the usual econ answer of diminishing marginal utility of money. Whatever the number, for those will a lot more the marginal value of that cash can be a lot less than it is for those with less money. That one has been mentioned already. I suppose there are a number of other reasons (I can certainly think of a few) but don't need to go down that path.

I support all good honest provider. No sense worrying about what you don't or will not pay for. I do agree many ladies are on the high side and may lose business because of it. But then again they may have more request than they can handle . All of us guys would keep prices high if we where on the others side and busy.
What works best for me is to have one or two regulars in the $350 to $550 price range. I treat them well and tip for great service. Any business owner knows a reoccurring steady payment is worth a lot more than a one time customer.  It also allows me flexibility on any traveling providers I want to see.

that used to cover dinner dates and longer.

With the inflation in rates, I'll be booking 2 hr dates going forward. I just won't pay the exorbitant rates anymore.

The topic of rates has been beaten to death, resuscitated, garroted, reanimated and defenestrated. In the 10 years since your last review, yes--rates went up. Along with the price of rent, groceries and gasoline. If you can't afford what is by definition a luxury item, then move on. These women don't "owe" us low rates.

It’s the same reason some might insist on Louis Vuitton or Gucci while others are just as happy with a bag/shoes/etc purchased from Walmart. 🤷🏼‍♀️

I always thought "defenestrate" was such an oblique word.  I also found that a very similar word, "transfenestrate", with almost identical meaning with one slight difference gets postings pulled because some moderators are illiterate and think it means something anti-woke.

If your attorney "screwed" you somehow I suggest making a complaint to your state bar.

Depends on what she looks like and if her rates were competitive.

A personal choice? Hilarious. The only reason you go to Walmart is because you can't afford to walk through the door at Gucci. I don't think there's very many millionaires and billionaires doing their shopping at Target

I think there’s a lot of millionaires who shop at Target. That’s one of the ways they got to be millionaires.

Also, one million bucks ain’t what it used to be.

Billionaires?  Maybe not many, but I wouldn’t be surprised if Warren Buffett shopped at Target occasionally.

For some, it most definitely is a personal choice.  Case in point...I have been friends for 40+ years with a woman from Orange County, CA who has generational wealth, sits on the board of 5 different banks and loves to shop for necessities at Walmart and groceries at Target.  She could literally walk in to a Gucci store and buy everything in the place without batting an eye over the total cost.

One should consider that, by definition, being a millionaire means that one has $1 million or more.  A million dollars isn't really that much money these days.  Rest assured, there are plenty of millionaires that shop at Walmart and Target.  Sure, they aren't buying their clothes, purses, makeup, etc. there, but they do frequent those stores more than you seem to think.

Certainly, spending time with a provider is a luxury regardless of ones financial means.  These women provide a service and customers pay a rate that is acceptable to them for the services they receive.  Some play in the lower rate tier area, some play in the highest, others play somewhere in the middle.  One should never believe that just because some folks choose to play with the lower to middle rate tier providers that they do so because they can't afford the services of a provider in the highest.

Put another way, I love playing Blackjack.  I often play at the $25 tables.  That in no way means that I can't afford to play in the high-roller room.  There are simply those days when I prefer the company of the players at the lower rate tables over that of the players in the high-roller room.  I am very much that way as well with my selection of providers I choose to spend time with.

Never judge a book by its cover.  The true story is in the chapters that exist between the covers.

TBH I can afford Gucci but don’t see the point. Now, while I do go to Target, I’m not getting my clothes there. But I’m perfectly fine with a pair of Levis and a t-shirt. I don’t always spend more just because I can.

Just cause you have money, doesn’t mean you should waste.  Its that behavior from select group that drives prices up for all.

So a select group "controls" the market by paying high prices? That sounds more resentful than insightful.

I'm not disagreeing. My comment was not suggesting to blow any amount. I said I would spend more. I don't see spending on those in the $800-$1000 range as wasting. Some of them may be worth it, even though I am not likely to spend it given my current budget. But unless she was some unicorn I probably still wouldn't drop 1.5k on her. But even then, if what she is offerring is rare enough, if I was rich enough and wanted it, I would probably do it. For example, twins that provide are extremely rare. And, the ones that exist, are not for the average client on a budget. If I was loaded though, I might scratch that pricey itch.

Back in 2000 when I worked for several agencies in college it was $700, $800 to $1k for full service. Now it’s really no different. One things for sure for ever person who bitches about prices there is another that’s happy to pay, supply a deposit, or better yet my ATF pay in full + booking 1 week to 1 month in advance. I am so glad I continue to attract friends with benefits who greatly appreciate my quality TLC.

because how much of the $700 did the agency get?

You need to pay attention more to what mongers are saying on this board.  I agree that for every guy bitching about prices, there is one willing to pay, but you have ADDED "supply a deposit."  Show me a link to any thread on this topic where the majority of posters said they are okay with paying a deposit.  When you turn a true statement into a bald-faced lie by adding your own false narrative to an otherwise true statement, your cred will always suffer.
