Both for the same reason...

I like taking the time to get to know a reserved person. I often find they have a unique view.
I also enjoy getting past the witty banter and learning the person that hides behind it….

Sex-wise it's the same. The joy of being the freaky temptress to a shy guy is just as enticing as a man that lifts you in the air and lets you know…he's gonna fuck you silly.
