  Good post Voyager1, but I deign to disagree with you. Cats have no natural retrieving instincts. All those dead things you find on your back porch are a product of the feline propensity to kill. Those experts have further postulated that, if a domestic house cat were the size of a lion or a tiger, it would be the deadliest killing machine on the planet. One monitored house cat brought back no less than forty-five dead creatures to it's "Lair" in a twenty-one day period. None of these were for consumption. Basically, they were just bragging to their meal ticket. If you have a faithful dog and you don't feed it, it will die at your feet.Try the same thing with a cat! Sayonara! Lest you think that I hate cats, I will say that they do serve a purpose, vis-a-vis vermin etc. and I do love animals in general. We always had a cat around when I was growing up.
