As Funny As A Heart Attack

I can appreciate a good sense of humor and love to laugh.  I too laugh at characters with Turrets in the movies and during accidental violent accidents on Americas Funniest Home Videos.

Having a client die on my watch would not be funny.  So, when a gentleman tells me he forgot to take his heart meds or can feel his artery getting ready to burst, I tend to take him seriously until I am assured he is talking heart attacks as a matter of speech and not trying to communicate his immediate need for medical assistance.

The average age for a man to have a heart attack is 52.  I am not a mathalete or a cardiologist, but 52 is pretty close to the average age of a hobbyist.  Also, most people in the US are overweight so it's safe to assume that most hobbyists are overweight also.  We all know this is a contributing factor to heart disease.  So, seriously, it's not funny!

Hobbyists, do you tell a provider when you have a potential health issue that could arise during a date?  What do you expect her to do if you have an issue and need medical attention?

On another note, if you have a physical impairment, do you find a provider that is friendly to this type of situation or show up and hope for the best?  Providers, how do you deal with physical issues, or do you?

Best,

Kate

We all laugh about "the big one" coming in bed in the arms of a beautiful woman, but I can see how that can be a very scary possibility for the ladies.
Kate, you ask if we tell our ladies qabout any health issue.
If I thought, or had any indication, that there might be a health issue, I wouldn't want to put any lady in that position so I wouldn't even partake until I was checked out.

The last thing I would ever want is to croak on her and leave her to have to explain what happened.
As is the case in everything, being upfront and honest is the best policy.

Just my opinion...

I have had a client who was post multiple bi-pass heart surgery, an other with multiple health problems, amputees, and several other disabilities etc. I appreciate a head's up in advance if possible but if not have been able to adapt with no problem. Of course I still keep up with my cpr training and other first aid training just to be safe, to say nothing of that it is helpful with my day job.

If it happens just call for emergency help in your location. Simple!

when on a hobby event, I always carry a card that states - "I am happy - are you?! please call my ex-wife and tell her that the lady you found me with were dating!  and the sex was fan-fucking-tastic."
