It's not a TER thing; it's a vendor thing

I think that TER is still using paygarden.com to monetize "our" GCs into Membership payments. TER doesn't care what GC you use. And I doubt that paygarden cares about where the payments are going as long as they are legal and comply with all banking and payment laws.
.
Starbucks is no longer on the paygarden list of accepted brands:
http://www.paygarden.com/brands
.
WHY does paygarden no longer accept Starbucks? Who knows? Maybe they are worried about Starbucks declaring bankruptcy or doing something that will destroy the value of the Starbucks GCs they bought at a discount from the public, like those paying for TER VIP.
.
(E.g., let's say paygarden "bought" 1000 x $100 = $100,000 worth of GCs at a discount from "us" for, let's say, $75,000. They were hoping to SELL those GCs to the public at a discount, say $90 for a $100 GC. Net: $90,000 - $75,000 = +$15,000 on that batch of Starbucks GCs. If the market for Starbucks GCs -- full price or discounted price -- has been destroyed, paygarden is out $75,000 for a pile of worthless or "worth less" GCs.)

Can no longer be used to pay for VIP.

Now I’ll have to drink $100 worth of coffee, espresso’s, latte’s, mocha’s, and more.

LMFAO. The reason you can't pay a Provider with a Starbucks  Gift Card is because the Provider can't use the Starbucks Gift Card to pay her bills.

You are seriously the dumbest person on this board..  He is talking about paying for TER VIP using gift cards not paying a hooker..

Seeesh !! Must be hard going through life being this clueless.

Thanks for the heads up. I occasionally used those here. I guess I'll have to try something else when the time comes.

The first time I used a Starbucks GF here it was accepted but the balance remained on the card so I was able to still use it for the entire face amount.

I just paid for VIP with my debit card for a year. I enjoy this TER community. Sorry your stuck with a Starbucks gift card. You could gift it. I’m celebrating my Birthday & would be happy to reciprocate with an erotic photo. Lol Smile for me!

My 'go-to' card is now Walmart.  Worked great.

I think you are close to hitting it out of the park here with your analysis, but I don't think Starbucks is going bankrupt, but looks like they might be in hot waters with their deceptive policy when it comes to their GCs.

A Boston man filed a Class Action Lawsuit against Starbucks.  This might be giving companies like Paygarden a second thought of continuing to do business w/ Starbucks.
