This is not a joke and Im not making it up.  It just goes to show how low and corrupt and 3rd rate US politicians have become.

Sen. Charles Grassley siad last week "The Bush admin is going to catch Osama before the elections."

I heard that statement and my heart skipped a couple beats.  He said it with such confidence too.  How nice is Osama that he personally called Sen. Grassley and informed him he will turn himself over to the Bush admin before the elections.  I just couldn't believe how matter of factly he made that statement.
As usual a scandal that big didn't get reported on any news channels.  But had Clinton gotten another BJ, or had Martha Stewart flashed a boob at the jury the whole world would hear about it for months.  But a Repbulican senator saying the Bush admin will catch Osama before elections gets no replay anywhere.
And people are still stupid enough to believe the press is free in this country.
This is no different than that Wolfowitz comment being taken off British website and story being killed before getting any traction.  In case any of you don't know what Im talking about here it is again.
Last year Wolfowitz was at an Asia security conference where one reporter persistantly kept asking him of why if it was a matter of imminent national security threat did the US choose Iraq and not N. Korea or Iran.  Wolfowitz got frustrated and blurted out by mistake, "Because Iraq was swimming on a sea of oil."
That statement started to circulate and got posted on a British news website.  Literally all hell was about to break loose but for some unexplained reason within 2 hours the story was removed from the website and not one of our "news broadcasters" did a story on such an outrageous statement. That statement was never posted anywhere again.  Gee I wonder why!

You have an incredible, and overactive imagination.  Just because a Senator say something like that doesn't mean shit.  Most likely it is just wishful thinking.

What has gone under reported is the number of high ranking al Qaeda leaders have been captured or killed in Afghanistan.  And the lack of al Quaeda operations that have effected the US.  osama is on the run, like the soon to be dead rat that he is.

While it is true that bin laden has not been captured or killed, what is important to me is that there are a shitload of Marines searching for the puke on a daily basis.  We will find the pig and either capture, or my preference kill the bastard then wrap him in bacon.  Whether it will be before the election is anybody's guess, even Senator Grassley's!  But this President will not give up, and I like that about him!

emeraldvodka, do you check under the bed before you go to sleep?

Surely you can tell the difference between Right wing macho posturing and an assertion with actual substance behind it.  The fact is, Bush will ramp up his attempt to catch Bin Laden in the next several months, because it will become his highest priority pre-election  But that's a far cry from "saving the capture of Bin Laden" until before the election.  The issue is NOT so much the capture of Bin Laden in any case, it's whether we are REALLY making substantial inroads shutting down Al Queda.  Alas, I fear that we are not.  And I'd be more surprised if we DID catch Bin Laden, or Ayman Al-Zawahari (who's the real brains behind Al Queda at this stage), than I would be if Al Queda were to successfully execute another attack on U.S. soil pre-election.  Because the REAL crime of the Bush administration is NOT that they are saving the capture of Bin Laden for the election run-up, but rather, that they took the heat off in the first place so as to use the same resources to go into Iraq after Saddam.

if Osama is "found" next Sept or Oct.
