TER General Board

I'm not the one having to post under an alias, nor need too. (E)

A provider recently posted an ad on my City's board. She has many recent reviews. Almost all are from hobbyists with only one review and they are all glowing. Obviously, this seem suspicious. After a quick Google search I found a different name for her and dozens of bad reviews on another site. They are the exact same pictures and phone number.

I posted a warning on her ad and a slight disagreement erupted on the board.TER justifiably removed my comments and the dispute since it referenced another review site. I completely understand the logic and do not disagree with the decision to remove the posts.

My question is, how do I warn my fellow hobbyists in these kind of situations? When I was new to the Hobby I would have appreciated someone letting me know when a fraud was being committed. I have lost plenty of money on bad dates before I became more aware.

How do I help my fellow Bros avoid my mistakes?

Put up a post advising you have 411 on a provider in a certain area that hobbyists there should be aware of; and have those interested PM you for details. No mention of her name(s) in public post.
Provide those who PM you with specifics they can verify to ensure you're not just trying to knock a provider for some personal reason.

Am I allowed to put a 411 under her ad or must it be put somewhere else?

I'd like to think that most gentlemen here research the lady before they see the provider. Nonetheless, where there is smoke, there is always fire.

Sweetest Regards,
Adrienne Baptiste

Post it in the city board section. anyone who believes the provider with multiple 10/10's from clients with only 1 review isn't doing much research though. I thought TER was supposed to flag people who got their first review from someone who's posting their first review.

As far as I know, however, you can put up an adviso on the general board, and even mention her name, asking people to PM you so you can give them information on her other reviews

He clearly has info about a girl who's being deceptive and basically lying about who she is and her review history.  So he's doing EXACTLY the right thing.
It says volumes about you that you think he should cover up.  Makes me wonder what YOU have to hide.

No matter how well deserved the warnings may be, shitting on an ad post is one of the surest ways to either get moderated or a time out from posting.

As Cobraa says, target the local board with something general, and then invite PM's.  If you ask those who PM you to spread the word to their hobby friends, it may cut down some of the time you spend on individual responses.  Cut and paste a response when you can.

your birth certificate does not say Adrienne Baptiste!  We all use aliases to hide who we truly are.  Get real!!

I also note you made no attempt to answer or rebut my question.  Weak.

Good idea, but he posted under an alias and there was no option to send him a PM.

An absolute no-no to do 411 post under her ad.
Do as ML above suggests.

...the PM window will open. He obviously can receive PM's since only VIP members can use an alias. The ability to PM an alias has been in effect for a few years now.

...he is wise to use an alias in this case. This is one of the 9 acceptable reasons for using an alias per TER guidelines.

providers since you say you will not repeat with any of them. Why not the provider you gave a 9-9 to?

Hmmm...I wonder why any decent, self-respecting woman wouldn't want to see someone like you again?
