I get paid by the post, and I get paid weakly for doing problem reports here, and no I did NOT make a typo or misspell the word, I get paid very "weakly" indeed. So far I have about 900 VIP days, I would be ashamed to ever figure out how much per hour I have made here.

Additionally I have a non profit oil company, It wasn't intended that way, but some days chicken, other days feathers, but I still get by and manage to see 3-5 girls on an average week.

I also get asked to do consulting work on occasion, but I hate doing it so I kept doubling my rate until no one would meet my price.

... kill you.

;)

I've been working in the same field for over 35 years. Fortunately for my hobby funding, I've fooled enough people that I know what I'm doing such that they pay me pretty darn well.  And it helps that it's in a hot area for business and it's a job that would be impossible to ship overseas... unless I'm shipped overseas with the job.

Long time ago I use do a lot of contract work. Saved up about $100,000 in cash by year 2000. It is all gone, lol. In the mid 2000s I used my company bonus to hobby with any where between $5,000 to $10,000 a year.  Lately capital gains and dividends from mutual funds and trading stocks.

we stole it from the Indians(native americans). It's amazing what happens when your ancestors are the first ones somewhere. It helps that there is oil, Texas T, under the ground. Wheat above the ground and even some wind turbines to sell juice to utilities as well. Even better I lease the whole thing out so I don't have to deal with any of the day to day crap.

Prices kind of suck right now, but had a lot of years of fat royalty checks. Keep buying those SUV's.

I've been in the business for 18 years, and have landed a job with good pay and benefits at a casino.  I hobby by setting aside $20 every week.  If I didn't have so much damn debt and alimony, I could probably afford quite a bit more.

Who has a weird work shift.  The machinery I fix and operate is important to keep a few blocks in/of Manhattan running.  I'm on a tight budget and only see providers occasionally.  But z lot of my work time is downtime so I surf TER on my phone.

Especially given some poster's comments about how often they hobby or how many providers they've seen. Doing the math (because I'm a math guy), they spend a damn good salary every year on hobbying, which makes me wonder what they do to afford it.

I work with high net worth individuals (and am always on the lookout for new clients). I'm not one myself, though. Oddly, I don't think any of them hobby - or if they do, it's UTR or in a different social circle than the hobbyists or providers I've met. After all, someone's got to be paying those $1K/hr rates, and it sure ain't ever gonna be me....

I don't make a lot of money by some folks standard (like Doctors, Lawyers, financial advisors etc.) but I do alright.

The reason though that I'm able to hobby, pretty much at will, is because I sacrificed early in life, built a solid savings, secured my retirement, don't spend money on things I don't need. I did almost fuck all that up by getting married, then divorced, but I made it out of that hell ok. Early sacrifice, and not being married with no kids equates to a comfortable life. It's not all about how much you make, if you live beyond your means you'll lose. An easy equation: make or control more than you spend.
