That have two elevator banks, each servicing different floors. Or two wings, not connected, each with its own elevator bank.  

One time, I swore my client must've been playing games with me, because he said he was in 2617 and there were only buttons for floors 1-25...apparently, I needed to head farther back to the SECOND elevator bank. I guess they tell guests that when they check in. I had no idea.  

Ah, the vagaries and hardships of provider life.

I was at one place where the elevator was behind me.  I don't know how the did it. Maybe the architect was MC Escher.

I've noticed that some elevators go up and other elevators go down. Most legitimate guests seem to know which is which but I get very self conscious standing in the lobby trying to figure it out. I'm too nervous to ask the clerks at the desk; I don't want to call more attention to myself. I just try to look all suave and natural, like I really know what's going on
