How many of you hobbyist actually turn to twitter? A provider could easily make a twitter with appealing photos and attract a lot of admirers but what about attracting actual hobbyist?

of shopping for a new play mate.  Honestly - TER and P411 are my go to sources for that.

I do follow a few twitter feeds of people I am interested in.    It has all of the positives and negatives of blogging; I may get a better idea of who you are.  If you really are a pedantic idiot who really can't avoid saying stupid shit in 140 characters - I am probably not going to want to spend the whole afternoon with you.

Helpful Hint -  Be VERY careful about who you retweet.... I am guessing that you stay away from politics BCD -- so why indulge in it while marketing?

There needs to be a solid wall between our real lives and our hobby lives, and social media is a breach in that wall.

I won't argue that social media won't get you more business, but at what risk?

Safety has to be our highest concern.

I don't use twitter but might consider signing up if I knew how to navigate without spending a lot of time. Specifically, how would one go about finding twitter accounts for local escorts? And how would one go about finding twitter accounts for escorts who will tour in a particular area?

Maybe it's all about networking... but I'm lazy when it comes to social media. Otherwise said, I don't like to spend a lot of time in front of the PC.

reading some provider twitter accounts (some of the photos and gifs can be very stimulating) but I never ever post.

I refuse to expose myself or ANY aspect of my life to unregulated scrutiny...I have no FaceBook, Twitter, or any other social media activity...I do choose the relative anonymity of forums that match my interests but nothing beyond them...

Hey There,

The best thing I would do is follow the few of us here who posted our Twitter accounts and then look at who we follow (NudeOpera, Gypsy of Chicago). I know for me, the majority of the people I follow are fellow escorts from all over. Literally ALL over (England, Boston, Chicago is major, Atlanta, NYC, Canada is major, Dallas, LA, Seattle, that's just off the top of my head). We also use Twitter to drop tour announcements. Many of us retweet other providers.

Plus twitter isn't that time consuming on your end. You can hop on the app on your phone, scroll your time line and hop off. Maybe like a few photos, retweet some things, respond maybe. You can be as interactive as you want to be. I like interacting with my followers.

If you just don't like social media - Great!  Everyone gets an opinion.  If you don't think YOU can use it safely - then by all means, don't.  I greatly respect your opinions on every other topic (except tech) that I have seen you post on.   I think you deserve a cogent response as to why I think social media is no more or less safe than any other thing a working girl might do to promote her business.

I think that if you have a "work email" and a "work phone" - no reason you can't have a "work twitter", "work fetlife", or "work facebook" or "work whatever".

I don't see a difference in terms of security between running an ad on E*os or having a Twitter feed.  Actually the E*os feed is less secure because the ad must be paid for in some way... which represents yet another attack vector.  Each venue that is advertised on does represent an additional "attack surface" if you want to put it in security terms.  If you advertise in two locations - you are probably safer than if you advertise in ten locations.  There is some security benefit in being "picky".

I don't think the specific venue matters.

Yes - it works.   You are the poster child for doing it right.

I am pleased with the majority vote here. I did not want a social media site for this....I asked because I am new to the internet world of escorting and if it was that effective I would of thought about it...I see a lot off providers suggesting it here but don't see many hobbyist talking about it...seems like a waste of time imo and it is a great idea for picture collectors and time wasters to follow you. Next thing you know, one of the sexy pics can go viral and your name is REALLY out there- beyond this community. I want to be discreet as possible as a provider.

Although for myself in 90% of the cases it's useful in helping me to determine that I didn't really want to do business and/or continue doing with this individual, after all. Either their feed is repugnant, exhibiting a complete lack of discretion, or they're talking about blacklisting clients who score them below a certain level etc. etc..

So yes, it's very useful for clients, just not in the ways you might think.

...and I really like tweeting and retweeting providers (as well as a bit of porn) and I have met and been with a few providers I met on Twitter, I always check out their reviews here on TER before taking the plunge.  Twitter is the wild West and I really don't need to be scalped or be involved in the Great Train Robbery while hobbying.  So while I have dabbled there, my main sources for seeing providers is always TER and p411.
Dipping my toes into SA recently has given a few nibbles but have yet to land a SB.  Mostly I have been sticking with my ATF fkr the past year.

...may not apply but my avoidance of social media is it's dedicated effort to find you and all your possiblle friends even though you don't want to be found. You e-mailed someone, they emailed someone, someone suddenly gets a notice that you may be their friend. I know there are ways to be private but not everyone is as discrete as they should be. I got rid of my hotmail account because it seemed they were trying to make corrections too. I logged in one day and had a you may know notice.

And whether I'm discussing my personal life (except, no politics allowed), or my various careers...I sincerely enjoy interacting with my Tweethearts around the world.

I am discreet and never discuss any aspect of my escort schedule, rendezvous information, or Tweet business with the hobbyists who follow me...which is just common sense and courtesy.

And then I delete them before all 4,000 followers see them the next day haha

Maybe I do it right. lol!

There are people with "niche" markets, and part of that is political. I get it, and honestly the people you might not think are doing it right are doing juuuust fine lol!!

The successful ones are the entertaining ones - and sometimes a little controversy is needed to stir the pot a little. When I say controversy, it can be as simple as someone just being themselves.

Not everybody's gonna like ya'. And if everybody does, we're doing something wrong.

It took me forever to really participate in it but when I started just being myself rather than trying to promote myself I became hooked.  I like when clients have twitters too because sometimes it gives a little insight into their personality.  I just like talking to people in general though I try to keep the majority of tweets positive.

So the clientele i appeal to is usually 40-60 year old working professionals looking for date night. I use Twitter to showcase my personality, I make jokes, post funny photos of myself, tell interesting stories about my day. I don't actually interact with the men who follow me, hobbyists aren't my forte. The guys who have seen me and mention my twitter don't follow me on twitter, they don't have dedicated twitter hobby accounts. They just like getting a feel for my personality, and that and the text on my ads/website is why they always say they book.

I see so many girls differently. I say differntly because there's no wrong way to do it, some clients like endless titty pics, some like when their provider takes a political stance, some like when their providers show off the venmo receipts or the gifts someone bought. I would never do any of those things, simply because I think they're tacky and couthlesss, and it doesn't fit my persona. I wouldn't ever show off a venmo or gifts clients give me because thats between me and them, not for the world to see.

Those are my thoughts on it. Your twitter should be an extension of you, but some of you have tacky or classless personalities, and should definitely stay away or just stick to posting selfies.

Type in words like: escort, companion, courtesan. Then click on the word People (instead of Top or Latest) and many escort's Twitter profiles/accounts will appear.

Realize, this isn't like an escort directory, but it will narrow it down for you. The escorts use words and #hashtags in their Twitter bios, and that is what Twitter's search engine picks up on. I don't list escorting in my bio, so I doubt I'd be listed...but, I'm unsure if Twitter may also read Tweets for info.

Twitter has a search field that can be an energy suck or time saver depending on how you relate to it. More simple to remember is that if you input the pound sign (#) plus a word or string of words with no spaces or punctuation marks, you'll find streamlined search results. Hashtagged keywords are searchable links that lead to members who're sharing content related to that topic (examples: #NYCEscort #ChicagoEscort #NOLAEscort).

#Twitter is mainly for #providers. Yes I've gotten a few replies but it's usually just for a plus for verification or for #providers to k.i.t.
