captures my experience precisely.  even in one very long  term situation with an ATF, a minor faux pas on my side and I am told to screw off. and I do mean a very minor thing.  lesson learned and your suggestion is a good way to test out the reality of the situation.

How about after 10 visits put a little less in the envelope and see how she reacts. If she turns ugly you know she never thought you were a decent guy in the first place. If she mentions it in a nice way, I'd give her the money right away and a gift during my next visit.
