Actually I hate mothers day.
NOt just mothers day but all invented holidays. They don't exists. They are like any other day.
We all know the purpose of all these little holidays is to sell stuff. I will celebrate and give to my people whenever I feel like it, not when I'm told. If you wait for that one day a year and everybody is doing the same. It's like... ah a restaurant with, full of moms and sons and daughters... and then what forget about them the rest of the year... NO, NO, NO NO I refuse to follow. I will not Follow. If I was about to go and take my mother out, now I can't do it because you will think it was because it was Mother's day. I guess I'll have to wait.
Stop all holiday -- but still give the workers thier days off (on whatever holiday that used to be). I still agree that historical days (Jul. 4) should be celebrated. But invented ones shouldn't be.
But if we didn't have them, we would invent them. The merchants of our society push these buttons because they know the buttons are there to push. People in general don't like to think that every day is like every other day. So, people not only count the days, they play with them a bit.
creating them until there is one every Monday. I think the work week should be 4 days long but we get paid for 5. I think if you don't want to spend money on commercially created holidays then don't. I think some people need Mother's Day to remind them they have a Mother in the first place and to celebrate her. I think if you don't want to celebrate on the day everyone else celebrates a certain thing then you should have a holiday commerating that. I think EVERY President should have a holiday...not just Washington and Lincoln. Even Hoover. And there should be party favors with their likeness. I think if you don't at least awknowledge the goodness of Arbor Day you should have your head examined.
I don't care that damn liberals have invented the day to sell trees to everyone.
