Consider this scenario:

You contact a provider you have not seen before, you are screened and the usual couple of emails occur to confirm date, time and location. The day arrives, and you receive the dreaded "I have to cancel because _____. So sorry."

What's missing for me is another line to the email saying something like "Would you like to reschedule for another time?". Or "Maybe we can try again?". I interpret that missing extra line as a tacit "Not interested", so I probably won't make another attempt - no matter how interested I am.

Am I reading too much into this? Does anyone suggest rescheduling in a cancel email? Is there a difference whether you suggest rescheduling when it is a repeat client vs a new client?

All input welcome!!

Not literally, she won't let you.

Once I had to cancel on someone who comes to Vegas to see me. He drives from Orange County. I felt terrible... Literally..

I called and said, look I'm really sorry, but I don't want to risk getting you sick, I can send you a few other girls info and I will get in touch with them and next time I'll stay longer or we can go to dinner or whatever works for you."

He came up to LA when I was there and we went I eat. I tried to pay, but he wouldn't let me. The point is, I always ask (from the three times ever) "what can I do to make this up?"

Men should do the same thing too. A simple, "ugh I'm so sorry.. I emailed you an amazon gift card.. " goes a really long way.

She doesn't have time to reschedule... My experience-Usually if that happens, the hobbyist inquire if there's another time/date, if he really wants to see me that is...  I never offer-"would you like to reschedule" if I have to cancel an appointment, I apologies & if they ask to reschedule, I thank them for rescheduling & I offer them a "Special" for their inconvenience...   Just my 2 cents......

Guys can get very interesting when rejected, and being rejected by a hooker, well some just can't deal with that and the shit hits the fan. Some hookers, most hookers are not a fan of confrontation so err on the side of ignore and he will eventually go away. Fair, not really. Good business etiquette, not really. It is like any illegal business, it is run how they feel on the day for the most part for some ladies. Others, they do treat it like a legit business and will offer some sort of an explanation and deal with the why the best they know how.

Personally I would have no issue simply saying that after some thought I don't think we would be good together and I wish you luck finding another sexy companion. That will most likely be met with WHY

than negative. I asked the question because I've always (I think) had some form of that "let's try again" type of line in cancellation emails before. This one simply didn't, and I interpreted that as I chose. It simply raised the question for me as to whether my expectations and interpretations unique, or a shared perception

Maybe she simply doesn't know her schedule yet, and doesn't want to jerk you around any more than she has. It might depend on her health or her family or her car or whatever else. Most guys don't immediately offer to reschedule when they cancel on me, and I certainly don't take it as anything more than they'll let me know when they're free again. Not everything is SO personal ;-

So the South has taught this Yankee.

The ball is in the provider's court, she has just cancelled without explanation or option.  If she is indeed interested in meeting him, then she should ask if he would like to reschedule.  I would take the simple cancellation and lack of invitation to reschedule as a brush-off due to late-coming information.

If he asks her if she would like to reschedule, it forces either a "No" (rude at this point, she has already agreed to a date once) or a "Yes", which she could have done in the first place.

That just seems like good manners to me.

I never said I've had more negative than positive experiences. I've had many more positive experiences too but that's not the point. How many times have you had someone in another field of business cancel on you and not ask if you would like the reschedule? This has never happened to me and I'm old.

the cancellation was well ahead of the scheduled time, nothing at all inappropriate in the words used. It was actually quite polite, and very nice. Fact is, I met her socially at an event and she was extremely polite, nice and fun to talk with. I have absolutely zero reason to think she might have in any way intentionally "dissed" me. I was just over-thinking as I considered reaching out to her to reschedule

If it happens with me by the gentleman, he gets 2 strikes and then he just gets Chopped lol. I'm sure the same can be said on the flipside. But I certainly don't cry myself to sleep at night about it and neither should anyone else.

It's starting to feel very manginaesque around here again....on that note, it's bedtime. And OMG it's f'n snowing.

Being rejected by a hooker tips some guys over the abyss. You know the old "I have money you have to see me" bullshit? Some still do not get that hookers have a choice and at the end of the day, it all comes down to yay or nay.
